Hey guys. This is just like a "shower thoughts" post, but I wanted to hear what your opinions are.

Assuming you are not a celebrity or extraordinarily handsome, I think it's safe to assume that women will rarely approach you. This is because moderately attractive women have been approached since post-puberty and they have gotten used to the norms of dating: women can flirt or send covert signals, but the guy is expected to approach.

With that said, I do recall some women approaching me. Or moreso chatting me up and trying to suggest we hang out (study, go hiking, go clubbing etc). On reflection, these women were not attractive. 6 at most. And then there are some female friends of mine in college that weren't very attractive that had boyfriends kind of beta... and almost every single time: the story is that the girl asked him out.

Then I recall a unique incident: one woman recently who sat next to me at Starbucks. I had a shit ton of things on my mind, but she was trying to chat me up. She was actually cute, a 6. Then she picked up my motorcycle helmet and asked to see it... then she smelled it. I did not think much of it then, bc again I had A LOT on my mind that day, but then later after I left, I was thinking how weird that was and maybe she had a mental disorder or was otherwise socially not acclimated.

So my hypothesis is that girls that approach you are not really attractive or may have a mental issue. Anyone confirm or deny?
