Afghanistan+Iraq it's 2%

But women not being in Taliban government is the only thing on the news.

TIL that according to academic literature, false allegations of rape, while relatively rare, are at least five times as common as false accusations of other types of crime

True, but being a gynocentric culture we need to focus on the incredibly small minority that were female. That’s the nature of gynocentrism.

Former Infantry here, any loss of American personnel is sad, regardless of whether they are our brothers or sisters. I’ve lost a few to the war over there and the war when we get back. Don’t let the talking heads rile you up. Corporate mouthpieces gonna mouthpiece. That being said, to those advocating for females in combat roles, we had a female soldier from our S1 shop join us for a convoy moving a hvp to another cop on my last deployment. Loading up the MaxxPros and getting inventory, I heard a shot and a scream. Someone had put her in the turret and she had a nd taking her beretta out of the holster. The round went through her thigh and bounced around the inside of the vehicle. No one else was hurt, luckily. Not saying females shouldn’t enlist, but she maybe weighed 120 pounds soaking wet. I weighed 220 pounds, 15% fat and that was without full kit. If I went down, there was not a female in the country that could’ve dragged me to cover. Squad weapons and ammo are heavy, we need big strong American boys at the tip of the spear. Females wearing the blue cord means casualties. Do not advocate for social experiments with soldier, marine, airmen or sailors lives.

Current infantry here. I agree 100% I went through osut with a gender integrated unit and my god the things I saw there did not give me peace of mind when I saw their performance there.

[–]DebSheep 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Not infantry here, question. While women are generally weaker than men, could they do well if the training regimen was more difficult? Do you think that would work well or at I just trying to come up with solutions to problems I shouldn’t.

[–]JamesHollywoodSEA 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Former infantry here. While I'm sure some could handle a more difficult training regimen. The end result doesn't really justify the cost. Not having women in the combat arms isn't only about the strength gap between men and women. I was a peace time Marine, so I never saw combat in Iraq or Afghanistan. But in training there were times we were out in the field for 30-45 days at a time. No showers, and very few changes of clean clothes. Women have periods to deal with, and a multitude of infections that result from poor hygiene. Dudes basically just get really smelly. History has proven that women can handle themselves in combat. That's never been the issue. The issue is at a unit level it's harder to maintain combat effectiveness with a mixed gender infantry.

Men also fight over women, especially in the desert. The less women around, the more fighting there is. It’s better to keep to your brothers, focus on the task at hand and embrace the suck and look forward to getting home.

Being a woman in a war zone is much harder than being a male in the same circumstances. 1.a much higher chance of getting raped/sexually tortured by the enemy or even your own soliders 2.youre weaker, no one respects the harmless 3.youre weaker, higher chance of death and less profitable to keep you around. 4.the machismo is cringe.

If youre a fan of army - for some fucking reason - sign up for something related to medicine, tech, or bureaucracy, sis.

We women dont play a noticable part in the government and have accumulated much less wealth because of child-rearing and physical weakness. War is mens dirty and corrupt business, let them fucking have it.

[–]omidoggo 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

you realise ure quite frankly sexist right?

[–]leavemealonefucktard -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Biology and history are sexist.

[–]DebSheep 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I think you are confusing equality with fairness. You are absolutely correct on the fact that getting raped by your soldiers is a big threat. (Evidence)

A good part is that 90% of people who rape are dishonorably discharged, which I’m guessing can ruin someone’s life.

Yeah, you generally are weaker. It’s a biological thing. Women who work equally to men will be weaker (if I’m wrong, feel free to fix).

I imagine that the third point has to do with direct strength, and while women can’t carry the same as a dude, they can still be marksmen or something.

I don’t think that the medical field is the only way to help.

I don’t know big words like machismo, but I’m guessing it has to do with the cringe amounts of downvotes you have.

Blaming government and war on men is uncool. Women have plenty of representation. Just look at the majority of first hand incidents on this subreddit.

The only dirty and corrupt business run is getting circumcised, which dosent count because when it happens they are babies. Generalizing isn’t cool, and I hope you learn from that.

TLDR: stop generalizing, and make the best of your skills even if some people are better than you.

Generalization is very impirtant to see the bigger picture. Why not deny that homophobia and racism exist? Im sure some lesbians and black women are doing far better than you. You have to look at the bigger picture sometimes. Being a woman in the army is overrated. Youre almost disabled compared to the trained solider. This is why we dont allow 16 year olds to join the army (at least where I live), Im sure most 16 year olds boys are stronger than you btw. Know your limits and your strengths, sis. And circumcision is almost harmless as opposed to FGM. Take 5 minutes of our life to educate yourself about the side effects of both so you can understand.

And the Afghans can fuck themselves right?

Fucc off

[–]nerfdarttotheface 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Who said anything about the Afghans fucking themselves? Are you the champion to reason with a terrorist organization? Why don’t you go tell them what’s up and how to run their new country with all the shiny new toys they just got. Let us all know how that works out for you, I’ll get my candles for your vigil.

may the memory of those men live on, they aren't just statistics

[–]Hollowhowler100 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

We have to say officially because the number is probably a lot higher.

[–]raytaylor 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There is a lot of information to process on there.
Can someone confirm for me of the total number of males and total number of females, what percentage died?
Eg. If a male joins the military, is he more likely to die in combat than a female in combat?

[–]Marty-the-monkey 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Because one is news and the other is a statistic.

What exactly would you want the news to report on with those numbers? Demand more people die to even the numbers? What’s the angle by looking over this?

Wanting more women to be allowed as combat soldiers? Women in the service have been wanting that for years. That’s not really news either.

[–]Alfster620 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Maybe there are just more men than women in The US military

[–]63daddy 20 points21 points22 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Even if the deaths are proportionate to the gender demographics, it doesn’t follow we should focus on the female deaths and ignore the male deaths.

[–]mikesteane 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

We must need quotas to make the numbers equal. Let's have conscription for women to solve this problem.
