We'll soon be wrapping up with the first quarter of the 21st century and things are looking quite impressive, aren't they? This new heterogenous liberal tech-friendly society of ours.

I have lived in urban cosmopolitan centers for most of my life and more and more I'm beginning to realize that there are always a bit more young women than young men. maybe 4/6 or perhaps 5/8 is a good ratio. A little more than half, let's say.

Every time I'm on the metro, I always see more young women than young men. New York, London, Paris, Houston, Washington DC, Amsterdam, Milan, Berlin, Toronto, Sydney, Tokyo, even Moscow.

And on average these young women are more sophisticated than their male counterparts. They know the best restaurants, have better access to events, do more shopping, hobnob with rich society more, and typically have more memberships to gyms and yoga classes, etc...

I'm a libertarian young man in a niminy-piminy industry so I have many female friends and it made me realize this. Perhaps the cosmopolitan lifestyle is more suitable for young women than young men. They seem to have more flexibility and feel more at home here. Even in films and shows, there's more of an emphasis on a woman romanticizing city life.

Can we elaborate on this?

My own experience makes me rather myopic so I would love to learn what others have to say.
