I don't know much about US politics, but VPs seem to be consistently ineffectual, if not openly disparaged. It's a position barely more prominent in the public eye than First Lady when it comes to the overt workings of the executive branch.

Think back to Pence, Biden under Obama, at least all the way back to Quayle. At best, ignored, at worst, openly mocked. The most politically active VP in recent memory was Dick Cheney and he was: 1) pure evil and, 2) to my point, accused of being Bush Jr's puppet master because he DIDN'T recede into the background. /shrug I'm just kind of happy she's not being dragged every day.

Kalama Harris has a shady past with prosecution and locking people up. She was voted in as a figure head for WOC. For the black community she was an AKA that went far, for the Asian community she carried their race. She also was very shaky on her ideal, and not strong on he own. Overall I didn't vote for her because she along with biden were the best of the two.
D and R have the political spare in the USA on lockdown. Voting for anyone else is a waste of a vote, so like south park said it's often a pick between a tard sandwich and a giant douche. It's not fair honestly.
