Twitter trend: "The five devastating reasons climate change affects women more than men". Once again, it's claimed things are worse for women/girls. This is in the context of #COP26. Repeating this just suggests to me there is less empathy for men/boys and their lives.

Study finds that "manuscripts written by women as solo authors or coauthored by women were treated even more favorably by referees and editors" yet gets reported with the heading "no gender bias". Gender bias against men doesn't seem to count as gender bias!

Following a petition, Winchester University cancelled a talk with two men's rights activists in 2019. Here is the text of one of the talks (by William Collins) that were planned. It covers education, suffrage and coverture. It's disappointing that such views can't be expressed in such a forum.

95% of strip searches of children reported in England & Wales are of boys. This may or may not be an issue but I found it interesting that it was considered unfair that black children were more likely to be strip-searched but this huge gender disparity was barely mentioned in lots of media coverage.

Misandry. Straight up misandry and it's everyone's face but they refuse to see it.

It's madness. No wonder so many men are angry and violent, they're constantly abused by society and we expect them to just take it.

This is probably it...

  • The five devastating reasons climate change affects women more than men

The bullet points are... * Violence * Child marriage * Contraception * Education * Death and injury

I don't have time to read the article, but I'll note that the UN rated the US as one of the 10 most dangerous places in the world for women.

Women more vulnerable to violence, death and injury ?

[–]TracyMorganFreeman 15 points16 points17 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It only counts to them when the victimizer is the opposite sex.

[–]ripyourlungsdave 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And yet, if women were more likely to face, violence and death and injury, it seems like the whole meme of “this is why women live longer” wouldn’t make much sense.

They love using that as a way to mock men, but it flies out the window when they’re wanting to be the victims.

If all men where to die, they would still think that women would be most affected.

I don't know if I'm right or wrong, but I feel like the reason female issues get more play in media and places like Twitter may have something to do with the percentage of users being female. I was under the impression that females have done, and continue to, dominate the market via their spending (which is much more than males) along with dominate the cultural narrative about humanities issues because they talk more about it. Again, I'm not sure about this, but when I think about the narrative that 'females are more hard-done by than males in our society' (regardless of the statistics indicating otherwise) it actually encourages that reality to be percieved by its consumers; if a percentage of the female population are animus possessed and want to live out their 'damsel saves herself' narrative - could we just let them? Rather than hate on feminists, I think the whole movement needs to start doing their own thing and lead by example, if we're better than feminists than let's stop giving the worst of them play... What can you and I do, today, to improve the social standing of males in the world? I don't think males have the capacity to solve female issues and I don't think females (or feminism) have the capacity to solve our issues either, it's on us, on an individual basis to stop spreading hate along gender, racial and class lines. I assume there are nice feminists and nasty men's rights people too.

You're just realizing that now? There has been less empathy from society as a whole towards men for decades, if not centuries now. Even worse, both men and women don't seem to give a single shit about it because from a reproductive standpoint, men are easily replaceable. In the most desperate of times, only one man and a bunch of women are required to keep mankind going, and society acts accordingly.

COP26:100 private jets used ...to talk about global warming.

Let's be honest,it's not as easy as just "going green",you either use the resources for economic activity and production or you either are swallowed by the other foreign powers.....it's an economical war going on and those resources are some heavy calliber stuff.

[–]SavageSam1234 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That would be like saying:

Well, when the sun engulfs the earth, it's really women who will bear the brunt of it!

In the rest of the world... Men forced to work in harsher condition, women most affected. /s

[–]pfizerface 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm so used to this now. It's almost lost its effect.

Same old story, we know the drill..

I personally don't give a shit anymore. They can die quicker or whatever they claim for all I care. It's a free for all at this point.

People will grow tired of these old hags in the media and start to shun them soon.

[–]Rol9x 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is how propaganda works. Most of the people are brainwashed into this narrative and they just look at the things through this mindset. It happens in every totalitarian regime, when people want to appease the leaders and benefit from their submissive attitude. And if you think we don't live in a totalitarian society... Think again! Social media outlets can ban whoever they want with no public scrutiny - they banned a US president, but allow Iran's leaders, they decide what subjects are allowed and what subjects and people can be banned. Society and authorities are almost exclusively focused on certain minorities while other people with other issues are completely overlooked.

Since women are always prioritized in any crisis, a climate crisis is no different.

But the real question is : For a movement that is supposed to be against gender roles, they sure gender everything they can.

[–]Greg_W_Allan 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

For a movement that is supposed to be against gender roles, they sure gender everything they can.

Apart from male suffering which must always be de-gendered. Hence "100 killed including two women".

Climate change affects humanity as a whole, when those oceans will be flooding ur country or the UV rays from the sun will strike ur skin, they wont be giving two fucks about ur gender. So plzz for humanity's sake plzz dont involve ur shityy stupid gender politics in such serious matters.

one thing i realised it ia best to not get frustrated at other ppl fir being vompletly msntal if ppl are dum leave the be don't hurt ur self because someone can't understand you just hurt ur self and they won't care we need to accept that fact and distance ourselvs but if someons is hurting us directly that is when you should fight

wow congrats this is top 3 stupidest reddit thread. How are all of you so ignorant despite being literate? Also shocking by the way.
Any ways, here's a few (of many many) links to get a better insight of what this post really means instead of jumping to your victimhood conclusions.
