Should men have the ability to opt out looking after a child?

Suppose abortion is legal in their country, if the woman wants to keep the child and the man doesn't. Should the man have the ability to opt out of caring for the child? Should they still have to pay child support.
I discussed this with someone and here are her arguments on why the man shouldn't.
"When the man had unprotective sex, he was getting himself into fatherhood. Never mind the mother wasn't. There's no consequences for the man leaving"
Should there be consequences for someone who never opted to be a father? The woman chose to have the child, the man didn't. But man signed up for fatherhood while the woman didn't when they had sex? Yet the woman also gets to decide whether or not the man has to pay for a child he didn't want?
"Abortion is traumatic for woman. It's unfair that the woman has to either have the child by herself or undergo a stressful operation to remove the child."
It is. When she had sex she didn't agree to be a mother, that is factual, though apparently the man agreed to be a father. Seems like a double standard though I see how that seems unfair that the man can walk away while the woman gets screwed either way. That I can't argue against.

What're your thoughts on this? Either way it seems I'm a narcissistic misogynist for suggesting that both parties be able to opt out of parenthood.
