We all know it's very difficult to know how to behave/act sometimes because society can be overly critical of us women. We're either a bitch, a prude, a bore, a slut, stuckup, too independent, too loose, too needy, blah blah. You get the gist. Almost every woman knows what I'm talking about. Now, I finally figured out the formula to handle the pressures of society and how not deter from your true path. In short:
Make a plan.
That's what you need to be doing, but don't worry, I will elaborate a bit more on that. See, your life is like a vehicle and you are the driver of that vehicle. But because of conditioning from society, we often take the passenger's seat in our own damn vehicle, with nobody behind the steering wheel, and act all surprised when that vehicle hits a tree and totals our car. I don't blame any of us. Heck, I used to think I wasn't worthy to drive for a long time. I'd attract the worst people into my life over and over again until I realized the importance of a plan.
So how do you make a plan?
Each of us has a unique set of cards that we've been dealt. Analyze your life. Realize where you want to be in a a year, two years, three years, etc. Set up some small goals and some big ones. But most important of all, have vision and drive towards that vision. Don't forget to not compare yourself to anyone during this process. Like I set, you circumstances are unique to you. There's no point in comparing. That won't help you at all.
Have vision and drive toward it.
See, when I had my first driving lessons, I hadn't improved by the 5th lesson. I was insecure, too slow, and not safe at all. I switched instructors and the new instructor finally told me "don't look at the road right in front of the car, look straight ahead at where you want to go and the car will follow". And that advice helped me and I eventually got my license (yay). But this also applies to our own lives. Our mind is driving this vehicle of a body. We need to have vision and drive toward that vision. Because if we don't take charge, the currents of life will. And that's like playing the Russian Roulette. Not a lot of good will come out of that.
Once you have vision, people with the similar mindset will cross paths with you. And people who don't, people with road rage, or people who are upset that your destination differs from them will stop getting to you. Because you realize, you don't want to drive to the landfill as your ultimate destination just to keep a scrote or an opportunistic friend company. You want to drive somewhere beautiful. With beautiful and elevated people, who know how to dress nice, how to carry themselves, how to talk with respect to one another.
I used to think when people were offended that I didn't stop my vehicle* for them, I was being a bitch. And in their eyes I will always be that bitch and there's nothing I can do about it. And that's okay. I'll proudly take on that title. :)
