Because it doesnt what the feminist did was look at all the money that was going to male and females but didn't take into account: how many people of each gender are working (shocker it's men) what each gender person's jobs are (shocker men are in more hazardous jobs so to compensate they get more money) and how many hours each gender works(men on average have at least 50% more hours worked than a woman) with all this mind why isn't the gap bigger honestly less women are in the work force they on average don't work extended hours if anything they would have to be paid more an hour than to have the gap be less than 50% and that's including men doing life risking work and menial labor jobs doesn't something seem fishy when we take all this in

I'm going to Steelman the feminist argument. The reason a wage gap exists is because sexist men and internally misogynistic women view women as inferior, and thus expect the value they provide to be lower than a male equivalent. Kind of a difficult statement to disprove to them because of the lack of a definition of non-sexism. Even paying the same is considered sexist because of female exclusive expenses like tampons and makeup. But an unfalsifiable claim is not a valid argument in my opinion. That would be a statement of faith or opinion which should be personal not political or social.

Because the people in charge don't see women as valuable workers. And even if they do start working an employer might have some pre existing biases that tell him that women aren't as good in the workplace
