Edit: One thing you have to realise is that the language used by the UN sounds more benign than it is because it is interpreted through a feminist lens that sees women as always disadvantaged compared to men. So when they say 'gender equality' they don't mean men.

Are you hoping to pass your finals with this? Your request is odd. You’ve made your mind up that the UN doesn’t care about men (your words), so you’re looking for select stories to prove your point. Is that right?

For an informative speech, you should pick some hot button men’s issues - mental health, suicide, workplace fatalities, etc. Put together a speech that informs people about issues they’re not likely to often hear about.

If you get up and start off with “the UN doesn’t care about men, and here’s why” your professor is going to tune out everything you say. Why? Because you can’t prove that the UN doesn’t care about us. You can only prove that they spend more time and resources on women’s issues than men’s.

2 Is emotive gender differentiation practiced, in terms of language used? ( eg, pity being evoked for f victims of sex abuse, but not for m?, or (forcibly abducted) m child soldiers being viewed as a ' problem ', f child soldiers solely as victims?

3)Where more m than f are affected by an issue, is the f priotatised, or listed first?

About an equal number of men ( Prostate cancer) and women ( breast cancer) are diagnosed with these two cancers respectively each year. Actually, prostate cancer is slightly higher than breast cancer in the UK. How much funding disparity is there between efforts to detect and treat each of these? Should be about the same.

Forced and 'voluntary' Circumcision is actively promoted by the UN as a 'preventative' against HIV/AIDS. The Terence Higgins Trust, the world's oldest HIV/AIDS charity makes no mention of circumcision at all. On enquiry, I was told that it was not mentioned in training. Listen to real African men who have been affected by this worthless experiment Note, there are numerous links trumpeting the success of this program, however, these only count the increase in the number of unfortunate boys & men cut, NOT any figures suggesting that even ONE case of HIV/ AIDS has been prevented by the programme, compared to other programmes in similar areas which have spread safe sex education alone. Given the sheer amount of funds dedicated to cutting, and publicising cutting, it is obvious that many more cases of HIV/ AIDS (and even deaths) could have been prevented, had that money been put to proper safe sex education instead. https://www.vmmcproject.org/.

In contrast, FGM is reviled and no mention is made of the fact that male circumcision is the engine for fgm.
