No, I don't shit where I eat. Been working with this girl for about a year, I try to keep a cordial relationship with my co-workers.

A little backstory...girl is mid 20s, married young (20), religious/conservative, claims to have only ever slept with one partner (her husband), doesn't drink, primarily raised by her father. (some TRP's would say she sounds like LTR material or close to a unicorn...pretty average looking though)

When she first started working in my office I lightly flirted with her and gave her minor negs with shit eating grins (she understood I was joking around). I felt she was pretty receptive to my behavior because she would help me with certain tasks when I had a lot of work to do (she wasn't obligated to help). Fast forward to early this year, she has our boss wrapped around her finger. I've noticed she is a very manipulative person, she has attempted to manipulate me multiple times (attempting to get me to sympathize with her "situation"). The situation is most of the women in the office don't like her and a few talk badly about her behind her back (she has admitted she doesn't get along with women very well). In order to preserve my reputation with the other women in the office I no longer go out of my way to talk to this girl unless it is strictly work related. Also, due to her manipulative nature I have been keeping my distance.

About a month ago in the middle of the office she disrespected me and called me a baby. I wasn't even talking to her, she butted into the conversation (about the weather, just small talk) I was having with another person in the office. She immediately apologized and said she was in a bad mood, I let it pass.

Similarly what happened today was I walked into a co-workers office to drop something off and she was in there having a conversation with him. I dropped my package off and she interrupts the conversation she is having to randomly call me dumb. I didn't say anything previously to this disrespect, was just doing my job and leaving. I look at her and she is looking down at the floor like a child who realized she did something wrong. She wasn't smiling or giving any indication that she was joking. I gave her a bit of a look which I don't think she noticed because she was looking at the floor and I walked off without saying a word. Anyone have any idea why she would randomly insult me? Maybe trying to get my attention or to get a rise out of me would be my guess since I haven't been giving her much attention. Open to any suggestions on a better way to react to this disrespect? As I stated, I want to have a relatively cordial working relationship with my co-workers, are there any good strategies/tactics that I can use to mend this failing bridge, or should I treat her like a GF who disrespects you and completely ignore her?
