How do you classify your male friends?

I was curious as I was reading this post..

1. Do you classify male friends in this way? Is it something like this?

1) Acquaintances

2) Workplace colleagues

3) Interest / hobby buddies

4) Family (Uncles, brothers, cousins, nephews etc.)

5) Friends

6) Close friends

2. Second, what criteria do you use to select male friends (or how do you promote them?)
