Just some things I’ve noticed about dating prior to marriage (26) vs dating after divorce (34)

A bit of advice:

  1. Always get a prenup, people are rarely thinking clearly during a divorce and it gets really ugly really fast, some states (like Texas for example) force you to wait 60 days before your divorce can be finalized. Just think of all the fucked up shit that can happen in 60 days.

  2. You are always competing with other people for your partners love even if your married. Cheating is way more common nowadays.

  3. If your dating in your 30’s, your options are single moms, bots, and more than likely people that don’t check your boxes. It’s not just women that date upward either. Men date upward too or at least equal to or greater I’d imagine.

  4. You will probably end up conceding A LOT just to get a date and you’ll probably cancel/ghost at the last second once you begin to realize “wtf am I doing, things won’t last with this person. We’re a bad match and I’m obviously becoming desperate.

  5. “Sex isn’t everything” is a lie (most of the time, not all of the time. ) that being said, I think sex is boring.

  6. Fake it until you make it is bs too. Are you seriously going to temporarily be a different person until you get what you want? Also, how depressing is it to be of the mindset that “I need to increase my chances, so I guess ill take up an interest in xyz since it’s so popular. The goal is to find someone you’re naturally compatible with, or maybe your goal is to have sex, I don’t know your life. Regardless, be honest about yourself and your intentions because it won’t end well once they know the truth.
