This is rather silly rant but it pissed me off a little.

Today I was reading on Steak and Blowjob Day on Wikipedia and learned that in response women created Cake and Cunnilingus Day.

Nothing wrong with that as I enjoy all of steaks, cakes, blowjobs and cunnilingus. What got me was the reception, compare yourself:

Steak and Blowjob Day

  • Lifestyle blog YourTango felt the idea of such a holiday was an enshrining of male privilege
  • The Huffington Post stated that the day "made them want to gag"
  • The concept of a men's movement looking to create such a day has caused some controversy and incited opposition, being described as antifeminist or patriarchal
  • One opinion piece on the day suggested it was Neanderthal in trying to force through the idea of a day devoted to the combination of fellatio and steak

Cake and Cunnilingus Day

  • Online news portal news.de felt that "women are simply great – and therefore cannot be honored and pampered enough days a year"
  • The lifestyle magazine Jolie wondered if every day should be Cake and Cunnilingus Day
  • Swedish night newspaper Expressen and web magazine Nyheter24 stated that it is a day to celebrate female enjoyment
  • Newsroom platform Mynewsdesk stated: "There is a day just for us girls too."
  • Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet felt that female pleasure must be prioritized
  • Russian news website Life claimed that despite it sounding silly, it can bring happiness to couples
  • Danish daily newspaper Politiken thinks, "women living such joyless lives that they have to have an annual anniversary in the calendar to eat cake and feel some sexual pleasure"

Note that there were few positive reactions for the Steak & Blowjob Day (not listed in this post) as well but more were negative while there wasn't a single negative opinion about Cake & Cunnilingus Day listed.

I know, I know, this is a silly thing to be pissed about. But it's not just that, I'm just getting kinda tired of being a public enemy because I was born with a penis. I have nothing to do with the patriarchy and never was part of it. The idea that men should suffer while women should be pampered is really tiring me. And that so many women (and men) agree with the idea.

Rant over and sorry it's a little different kind of post than is common for this sub.
