Prisoners often get ignored. Part of the problem Is that many prisoners fake their symptoms and illnesses to get a day out of prison by going to the doctor or hospital. It’s the “boy who cried wolf” problem. It’s sad, but prison guards are generally not very sympathetic to prisoners, and can’t be expected to stratify fakers from really sick people.
