I know this forum is about Navigating spousal relationships, but I was hoping someone could point me in the right directions for articles about dealing with a bipolar narcissistic parent.

Long story short, my entire life, my mom has been bipolar and a narcissist and it didn’t dawn on me until my 20’s. Majority of my 20’s, I just dealt with it. I’m now in my mid 30’s and I’ve had enough of it. I have to hide a lot of shit from her (tattoos, motorcycle, etc) not out of fear of her response, but more so because I rather not waste time on arguing and I rather put my focus into important things. I don’t want to separate myself from her, I still want some sort of relationship. I’ve started to create boundaries with her. She still has moments of being ridiculous. I feel like she needs to have a say in everything and if one little thing doesn’t go her way, she plays the victim; everyone is out to get her. I noticed her condition got worse when her best friend was murdered by her neighbor like 10 years ago. Also after my grandparents died.

Any input and reading suggestions is appreciated. Also considering finding a male therapist soon as well.

Thank you.
