At least if the father declares paternity, he’ll get the child. But it’s honestly crazy to see Reddit’s reaction to this. Pretty sure it would be a bit different if a dad wants to neglect child support.

I got banned from r/legaladvice for telling the OP that the father has every right to take her money if he finds out, which legally he does. How many of us got banned because of this post?

yet another reason to have parental surrender. it helps everyone, the man can have his child, and it means babies won't be abandoned

though i do have to wonder, how did she carry the baby so long it was too late for abortion before realising she didn't want it.

So, the father was going to get full custody of the child, but agreed to give up all parental rights if a stranger signed the birth certificate?

The story sounds like low effort karma worrying. At least it's a lot easier to believe it's made up, than to believe anyone would be as stupid as this person
