This question is a false dichotomy because both are inevitable depending on the relationship. They're also not unreasonable depending on context.

The only real answer is, a girl that gives much more than she costs. (Emotionally, sexually, stress wise, economically).

The few ltrs I've allowed over the last 15 yrs have a few things in common, they memorize my favorite foods, my favorite things, my favorite (x) whatever. They follow without argument unless there's information I've truly missed, (in which case they respectfully supply said information and wait on my decision) and I'm their functional God. They also hit the gym or do natty, and are great and exclusive with the nasty.

(Funny how almost all of them are introverted conservative raised, healthy father type girls).

Comfort test girl. You could give her the impression that you're not ready for a relationship but she's very special to you and care for her a lot (Keep her as a FWB for a long time).

It depends on the girl. The one who gave me constant comfort tests was probably BPD and that all went to hell in a hand basket. In any event, if the testing is excessive, she has some issues that will bite you in the ass eventually.

Same girl threw a lot of shit tests too but they were soft balls that I could hit out of the park. With a different girl who took herself and her shit tests more seriously, that would be a problem.
