It's an interesting book. I know several men who found it very meaningful, one was marking up passages in his copy. I hadn't seen anyone do that outside of a textbook or tech manual since high school.

The tone of the book is weirdly adversarial. I didn't like it very much, but I found myself agreeing with quite a lot of it. I disliked the way he wrote, but thought the content was reasonable.

In my opinion, the book is less about "not being a nice guy" and more about convincing men who don't realize they have a co-dependency issue to challenge their assumptions. It's easy to take on too much burden and it's easy to convince yourself that suffering for others is the right thing to do. That combination is a death march. Men who have been in that situation often don't even realize what they're doing to themselves.

It's ok to have preferences, express expectations, and set reasonable boundaries. The "happy wife, happy life" folks don't want to see married men reclaiming their dignity.

Great great book...can absolutely be life changing for a lot of dudes, but should be read by all.

Read it. Even if it doesn't necessarily apply to you, it is good to recognize the behavior patterns.

It was the book that started my journey into the red pill world as I was a prototypical nice guy with a failing marriage and terrible interpersonal relationships.

When you finish it, your next book should be Hold On To Your N.U.T.'s by Dr. Wayne Levine. It is a very simple, user friendly book on living for your principles.

I think hes a 'nice guy' who got run over by 3 divorces? He's the male version of women who leave their husband and family, ride the CC, end up alone and miserable, then write a book about it to 'educate' others, in reality they just want to make money out of their miserable decisions.
