I mean, let's not worry about smv, this is like like choices and life direction, way more important. After you're done here you're welcome to worry about it, though.

Hmm, in principle any field should have entry level jobs available that don't require experience. I find the argument of a lack of experience for a fresh graduate to be invalid.

If you can't find jobs in this particular field, look for similar fields and/or paid internships.

I've sent out a ton of resumes and cover-letters when I was looking for a job after uni. I treated it basically as a full-time role. It's a skill, and you can develop skills.

I don't know if these will help but here I go anyways.

Research the company, write a cover-letter, and put stuff you've learnt about the company and you like in that cover-letter. Evidence that you've researched the company may not get you the job itself, but believe me it's important.

Aim at roles you're actually qualified for and indeed those that others think you might be qualified for. That's entry level roles that shouldn't require experience, lol. Because you don't have any.

In my case my field wasn't responsive to me at the time, so I expanded my search patterns for other roles and experimented a little just to find out which fields would give me responses.

In the end I settled on two days research around the company + cover-letter writing + custom cv writing across a variety of fields that I might be interested in or that could turn into the thing that I want or that I could reasonably turn into what I really want in a few years time.

I also aimed at small companies because they have a ton more flexibility. Whereas in a large firm, hiring is done through it's own department, meaning nuance and personal touch are more easily lost in translation.

I honestly don't think you need to get the job first, that won't be the case for almost all of us, but aim at something as close to it as you can, always expanding the circle of your search. Get your foot in the door, then go from there.

Hope this helps, but yeah, it's a skill, and hard work and persistence eventually yield a little luck.

Okay so you are not living your best life. You have a degree but are working a menial job because you lack the experience you need to work in your field. Can you tell me more about your degree, the industry you would want to work in, and so on?

Positivity is great and it is important to have in your life. As a person who tends to be a little negative I completely understand the mindset and when positivity doesn't work. Can you tell me more about the career counselor? Was this an actual counselor? Or were they a employment counselor who basically teaches you how to google search jobs and write resumes?

I didn't have much for savings at 25 and did not start saving up for retirement until I was 30, minus a pension from a workplace I started at 27.5 years old. I started with an RRSP putting in small amounts. It does help if you are making better money but you have time now to turn things around.

You say you have no friends or family nearby. Can you explain more on this? Are you intentionally away from family? Or are you wanting to be closer to them? Friends are harder to make as adults but it is not impossible. I struggle with this and am moving soon to another province. There are many layers to making friends from meeting people, starting conversations, getting into deeper conversations, etc. You certainly got a lot on your plate. That being said you do have a chance at living a life you love, or at least one that is a significant improvement from where you are at now. It won't be an overnight change. When I was 25 I felt hopeless and depressed about my future. Now I am doing so much better and I did a lot to improve my life. I believe in you.
