This is a terrible analysis. Here's a better one:

When women are inundated with male attention online, they don't search through the profiles for men interested in long term relationships (as the author suggests). They simply pick the most attractive men.

The problem is that women cannot be attracted to normal men from just a photo. Women are only attracted to normal men after interacting with them. Attraction for women is largely psychological. In order for a woman to be attracted to a man based on some photos alone, that guy has to be at the top levels of attractiveness.

However, while men at the top level of attractiveness may be willing to have sex with less attractive women, they are only willing to have a committed relationship with the most attractive women.

So now we have a situation where women are having sex with the most attractive men within a radius of hundreds of miles. (It was once the case that you'd only ever met people in your town.) These women are being driven insane, confused by why men they date are always married, or have other girlfriends, and will never settle down. Meanwhile they believe that 80% of men are below average in attractiveness.
