I filed in February after 7 years of marriage. It took a me years but my ex is extremely narcissistic and manipulative. After many threats of “taking me for everything “ I hired a lawyer and so did she. Through the months, things were going very smoothly. Her and her lawyer agreed to not touch my 401k, the house, etc with me taking on the heavy portion of debts. Once it got to finalization, there was disagreement with the proposed child support amount. The next meet, they flipped everything upside down. Now they are wanting all my 401k, equity in the house, Childs support. I pay 60% of child care. With all this I will be living on the bare minimum. They proposed it all and now she lost her job. Making $1 less an hr. Now they hooted child support and now she is telling me she wants me to sell the house at the projected market value so she can use her portion of the equity for. Her own house. We have 2 children. She lives with her mom currently. I don’t have much money to drop on lawyer fees so I have been very agreeable to avoid court. But I am at a point that it is not fair. And she just keeps trying to take more and more and more . How should I handle this situation and could going to court benefit me? I’m a great father (though she protrays me not to be) . The house mortgage is solely in my name. We live in Indiana.
