This story popped up on my Facebook news feed. "You don't do that to a woman!" Really? How 'bout you don't do that sort of thing to any police officer regardless of gender. I also wonder if the officer had been male and the offender had been female if the bystanders would have responded the same way. To be clear, I am glad the officer is fine and no one got hurt. But just because she is a woman is no reason to rush in and "save" her. I think that is more than a bit of a double standard.
