Imagine If This Was A Man …

A post taken from another sub (about getting things off one’s chest. The comments are overwhelmingly supportive of the woman, saying she should be angry, she has a right to be angry, he went behind her back, etc.

I suspect this is a fake post, but it raises some interesting points. I give the OP props for saying that men don’t need their wives’ permission to get a vasectomy (a point amplified in the comments) but the fundamental point still stands.

It’s his body. It’s his choice.

Now imagine if the genders were reversed and it was a man saying exactly what is said in this post, except that his wife went and got an abortion without talking to him.

He’d be downvoted all the way to China and he’d be told it’s her body, her choice, he can’t force her to bring the baby to term, etc.

In other words, double standard all the way.

This sort of thing infuriates me.

(and yes, I am 100 percent pro-choice and believe absolutely that ultimately only the woman has the right to decide if she wants to bring a fetus to term)
