The best argument in this case would be that circumcision(which is unnecessarily harmful to the penis) is a sexual assault that is signed off by parents and doctors yet other parents, adoptive parent and legal guardians have been jailed and shamed for other things on the same spectrum If you have enough legal knowledge you could probably get a few of these people out and a clean record. You could also argue that most to all circumcisions are unnecessary amputations. In any other case amputation of an otherwise healthy limb would be criminal for any physician to do but I guess since we are ran by sadist it’s okay. You could also argue that up until recently circumcision was not covered by most insurance policies, which is why in most rural souther states/cities people tell you their parents couldn’t afford or didn’t want to pay for it. However in major metropolis’ like the DMV(where I am) mostly everyone is circumcised yet none of our parents remember getting a bill for it. The only way most insurance companies cover circumcision is if it’s medically necessary, and it’s known that physicians just write down that it is just so they can do it. So this could expose an insurance fraud scheme. How much money do you think is going towards covering all of these unnecessary amputations and how much of that do you think comes from the tax payer?(the federal government dedicates nearly 8% of economic resources to healthcare)However the question is now: Why are they going through so much just to cut and throw away a piece of skin? The answer is that they don’t. Infant foreskins are used is so many different researches so there is behind the scenes lobbying for the continuation and perpetuation of circumcision. What we need is a class action suit that names all of these people to get a response

The comparison is a bit much but I get what you mean, I think. That brings in a religious freedom debate. How much does religion and ancestry allow you to do things. Personally as an atheist, I think that choice should be made as an adult. But quite frankly, I think there are more important matters to attend to. Anyways, some thoughts

Plain and simple, it is possible because circumcision is generally legal and rape isn't, and therefore each action carries its own legal ramifications.

Fully agree. It is an abuse of power against a helpless innocent child which causes permanent sexual injury worse than rape. It's a huge problem that males are not seen as being able to be raped, to be human enough to experience the emotional and physical damage. Instead it is discounted/disposable, the man's fault, funny or a good thing (based upon common media messaging and cultural blind spots) Rape needs to be redefined to include nonconsensual genital injury not just penis in vagina. Not just protect woman and girls and then exploit boys.

No. Circumsition is not even comparable. Most men who are circumcised don’t care. I know that I don’t care that I was. It doesn’t take away anything important. Rape on the other hand leaves you with long lasting trauma, is painful during the act, and they actually remember it happening. No matter your views on curcumcition, there is nothing to debate. It’s like comparing getting shot to stunning your toe.

Also, I’m disappointed at the fact that this has positive upvotes. Y’all didn’t read past the title.
