Thousands of dads are left in shock as DIY paternity tests soar. Up to 30,000 tests are being performed every year, says Alphabiolabs. In the UK about 750,000 babies are born every year. Feminists want the test to be illegal without the written consent of the mother.

Mother-of-two, 40, falsely branded a neighbour a sex offender because he 'made too much noise building a guinea pig hutch in his garden'. It seems for many women if they do not get their way they make a false sex allegation knowing a man is not protected by the law.

I wonder why ‘all’ the ‘quotes’ in ‘the’ title

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

To indicate that these are direct quotes from the man, and do not reflect opinion of the writer. It's a good style, as long as it's being done consistently.

Pretty much once somebody accuse you of rape, your life is ruined. No matter if true or false.

I was accused of harassment, much, much less than rape. And I lost my job and girlfriend. That was 8 years ago, my life changed dramatically for the worse, and kinda never recovered.

In my opinion the vast majority of rape allegations in the UK are false.

False allegations are at pandemic levels.

[–]equalRights111 8 points9 points10 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I don’t know about the ‘vast majority’ but certainly a significant level.

It’s a difficult situation to handle. On the one hand, if someone claims to have been raped, then they need to be supported and ‘believed’. On the other hand, we can’t just assume somebody is guilty.

Perhaps a different approach is needed. If someone claims to have been raped, we support them, and assume that they are suffering severe emotional and or physical distress, but we don’t assume who or what caused it.

[–]furchfur[S] 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

There should undoudtedly be anonymity for the accused and also

The police also need to recognise that many women lie for revenge or because they are completely unhinged as in this case.

There needs to be a lot more prosecutions for false rape allegations. The bar to bring a case of false allegation needs to be lowered. To date the CPS has never lost a case of false allegation prosecution but it loses over 50% of rape court cases.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There needs to be a lot more prosecutions for false rape allegations

I agree but the problem is most of these prosecutions come because there's little to no consequence of women admitting to false rape accusations. Make it consequential and then women will NEVER admit to the crime and so false rape accusations will flourish with even less consequence.

There needs to be actual evidence i.e. the rape kit at a police station not just believing some random woman based on her verbal account of events 20 years later.

Imagine someone saying "he stole from me" and the "he" in that scenario being locked up for 20 years... people would think this is ridiculous.

Perhaps a different approach is needed.

Impossible to implement given the pitchfork mentality of society.

Completely agree.

[+]ebony-mori -22 points-21 points-20 points 3 years ago (31 children) | Copy Link

You have no solid evidence to back that up.

[–]nacho-chonky 14 points15 points16 points 3 years ago* (23 children) | Copy Link

There isn’t any evidence to back it up but there is also no evidence to disprove it, rape allegations are extremely hard to prove and even harder to prove false, that’s why so little rapes end in conviction and even less end up proven false. Unfortunately we will never know the true statistics but all that matters is that we make sure our justice systems work as good as it possibly can and not not vilify random allegations without convictions

[–]pasta4u 8 points9 points10 points 3 years ago (21 children) | Copy Link

What it should be is accusations brought to the police are kept quiet during the investigation. No news reporting amd the alleged victim amd alleged perpetrator are not allowed to go to the press or talk about it until the investigation is over. If either party does talk about they can be sued.

If you make a public accusation then you cam be sued

[–]nacho-chonky 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (20 children) | Copy Link

That sounds ok but it does have a few kinks, the victims of rape usually know the perp so if it has to be kept quiet until charges laid then the victim might have to work or go to school with the perpetrator which would be absolutely terrible for real victims. I do like the idea though just need to find a way to protect victims

[–]pasta4u 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (19 children) | Copy Link

Its 2022 both can attend virtually , esp in college. If they are minor they should likely be separated. Lean on the side of the allegedged vitcim and have the alleged perpetrator pay for transportation for themselves to another school. If they are found innocent than roll that money into the judgement against the false filer on top of other damages.

Also non of this 20 years ago someone rapped me, I never filed a police report or reported it any where and everyone there said it didn't happen. But it totally did and now when I can prove shit either way I will publicly smear the man

That should be instant jail time 1 year for every year that has passed since the alleged incident

[+]ebony-mori -8 points-7 points-6 points 3 years ago (18 children) | Copy Link

I don’t agree with this. Not being convicted of the crime does not mean that a crime did not take place. Especially with something so hard to prove as rape.

[–]pasta4u 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (17 children) | Copy Link

But you agree with someone accusing another person and ruining thier life. I guess as long as it's just a man's life ruined

[+]ebony-mori -8 points-7 points-6 points 3 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link

Did I say that? No. However rape is notoriously hard to prove, and what you’re suggesting will penalise victims of rape for simply not having enough evidence.

[–]pasta4u 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

Alleged victims.

[–]ebony-mori 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I do believe the overall statistics for rape and false rape allegations are much higher than what we know, because of this very reason.

I don’t think statements such as “vast majority of rape allegations in the U.K. are false” helps anyone when it is so unbelievably unfounded.

I do agree with everything you have said though, it’s very well put.

The problem is quite a few seem to think they either need to witch hunt the accuser in case it’s false, or the accused in case it’s true.

Well, there is evidence. Hence why it has made it to court.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

"he did this 20 years ago" is not evidence.

[–]ebony-mori 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I did not say it did count as evidence. That’s the problem with trying to prosecute rape and false rape allegations.

[–]ebony-mori 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I am saying there is evidence that she did possibly falsely accuse.
