I don't know what this has to do with feminists?
It's valid. There is more money In exploiting vanity. If that money was invested in curing illness it would be a lot better.
Sadly most woman are followers who are have a placed such an emphasis on social status and looks.
Vanity is a gold mine and at the end of the day it's all about the money.

Actually I think it has something to do with beauty standards= 'mysognist ', even though WOMEN are the ones holding up these beauty standards and shaming OTHER women for not following it. Men don't give af if you paint your face

Western men have to pay huge portions of their earnings for these so-called "health care" expenses for women. Most of what is called "health care" is just using the health care industry as a personal spa. Men have to pay into the system, but men cannot use health care services. There are men dying because they can't afford health care, but their wages are paying for vanity services for women. I was just reading about another man who couldn't afford insulin, tried to ration it a couple months, and died. Meanwhile, women use health care as a place to chillax and live their best life. There's a new "Women's Imaging" office by me. They advertise on a sign. It's all free. Well, for women. Men have to pay for all this free stuff. "Did you know you could have low bone density?"
Women have no copay or deductible of any kind, because they don't have to work, but if a man ever wants to go to a physicians, he has to pay $3000 before insurance even pays a penny. And then men have to pay for their birth control, so they can run around with 100 different guys. And if they get pregnant, men have to pay them to kill it. Most of the diseases the author mentions are just lifestyle choices from leading a high risk promiscuous lifestyle. Meanwhile men are literally dying.

Western men have to pay huge portions of their earnings for these so-called "health care" expenses for women
Are you talking about taxes or insurance? Cosmetic surgeries aren't covered by taxes. Certain medical expenses are covered by insurance if they threaten or impact quality of life. Like corrective surgeries for deformities or abnormalities. For example nose surgery to fix breathing issues caused by a malformed nose. These apply to men as well and are not issues exclusive to women.
Most of what is called "health care" is just using the health care industry as a personal spa.
This is statistically and factually just not true in any way.
Men have to pay into the system, but men cannot use health care services.
If we're talking about taxes, women pay the same taxes. That's not an exclusively male expense. There is literally nothing stopping men from using health care services. There are healthcare services for men specifically. Men are however, more likely to refuse to seek treatment.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6560804/
"men use less preventive health-care services and do not seek immediate treatment for many health problems"
There are men dying because they can't afford health care
Yes. It's tragic. American insurance and healthcare is shit. Many women also die because they can't afford health care. It's pretty gender neutral. There are also medical assistance programs for lower income people.
but their wages are paying for vanity services for women
Vanity services are not covered by taxes. Someone paying for their own insurance doesn't pay for a random person's insurance.
Meanwhile, women use health care as a place to chillax and live their best life.
Like.. yes? The point of healthcare is to keep someone alive and healthy?? Healthcare is not exclusively reserved for women. Most people, men and women, are not "chillaxing" they're usually stressing over the payment for the services they need.
There's a new "Women's Imaging" office by me.
Imaging isn't cosmetic surgery...... It's cancer screening.... For ovarian, uterine, and breast cancer. Biopsies and mammograms. As well as bone density loss, osteoporosis, and other services that are either directly related to being female or caused by some facet of female healthcare like birth control.
"Did you know you could have low bone density?"
Many birth controls lower your bone density. It's a genuine concern that can lead to osteoporosis, bones being easily breakable, and other issues directly related to the damage done to your bones by this medication.
Women have no copay or deductible of any kind
Completely incorrect. I have to pay both. Any woman I've talked to has both. Paying for insurance isn't a male exclusive trait.
because they don't have to work
Also completely incorrect. Most households require two incomes to be healthy and comfortable. Most women do work and pay taxes and insurance. I do. My mom does. My grandma does. I could go on. Most women do. With this logic technically men also "don't have to work" like no one HAS to I guess but it sure beats poverty and not being able to afford basic human needs.
but if a man ever wants to go to a physicians, he has to pay $3000 before insurance even pays a penny.
Depends on the services done, what insurance they have, where they live, etc. That's also not how insurance usually works. They typically let you know how much they will cover per year or for specific services and you get a bill for how much you owe out of pocket. Also not male exclusive.
And then men have to pay for their birth control, so they can run around with 100 different guys.
Completely incorrect. Taxes for not pay for birth control. The cost of birth control is determined by someone's insurance and the affordable care act reduces the price. You are literally not paying for someone else's birth control.
And if they get pregnant, men have to pay them to kill it.
Abortion is not payed for by taxes. That is illegal.
Most of the diseases the author mentions are just lifestyle choices from leading a high risk promiscuous lifestyle.
None of the things the author listed are in any way related to a "high risk promiscuous lifestyle". Endometriosis is a condition you are either born with or develop later in life and can also be brought on by surgery, ovarian cyst, and other trauma in the uterus. Pcos is also a condition you're born with. Both of these can be genetic. Neither are brought on by "a lot of sex". UTIs can happen if you forget to pee after sex, but can also happen because of diet, stress, illness, menstrual products, just being predisposed genetically/ at birth, using the wrong soap, taking a bath, holding in your pee, not getting all the pee out, and sometimes just looking at it wrong.
If you took 5 minutes to Google anything you said then you'd see it's not even close to factually correct?
If we're going to talk about mens rights, lets use real facts and actually fight for mens rights instead of painting women as the enemy using false rhetoric.

There are so many errors here, I don't have time to correct all of them. Women consume approximately twice the health care services that men consume. It's not because men are unwilling to seek treatment. It's because men don't have access to health care the way women do. Many men can't afford it. But among those who can, the duty to work to provide for others makes it impossible to access services.
Some of this only applies to the US, but it's not that different, anywhere else. In the United States, health insurance is technically not considered a tax, but it is mandated in such a way that healthy men have to pay for insurance, even though it costs more than paying cash, but women don't have to pay for insurance, because they don't work. So it's a thinly veiled tax. If you work 60 hours a week, your insurance is $400 a month, and it doesn't pay anything until you spend $3000-$6000 out of your own pocket. But if you dont work, insurance is free, it pays better than the working man's insurance, and there are zero copays or deductibles. It's paid for by the working man, but it's the non-workers who enjoy the benefit. Some women work less than half as much as men, it's rigged in such a way that men pay and women consume
Small example- back when COVID was surging, I got COVID, and I was one of the lucky men who can call in sick for a week without getting canned. For whatever reason, COVID has the ability to cause blood clots in healthy people. I'm in perfect shape. I'm really strong and athletic, but somehow, one of these blood clots went in my brain, and I had a stroke in the middle of the night.
Sure, I could have gone to the hospital, if I wanted them to take all my savings and report me to DMV and take away my license, so I couldn't work for a year. That would make my dependents destitute and jeopardize their education and life plans. So I did what most guys do, I walked it off and added a little more cardio after I rested up. It's not because men don't want to have access to medical care. It's that all of the resources are dedicated to women.
I literally know a dozen women to meet with physicians every month. It's just like going to be mall going out to brunch. It's a form of entertainment women enjoy together. Take a look next time you're in a doctor's office. You'll see four female patients for every male patient. That's not by choice. That's because women enjoy access that men do not have.
So many other falsehoods here, I wish I had time to dispel all of them. Women do not pay taxes in the United States. Women collect taxes. There are certainly individual women who pay taxes during short periods in their life. But overall, every American women will collect hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxpayer money during her life. Every man will have to pay hundreds of thousands. That's on average, of course, individuals can sometimes differ. Women are literally popping thousands of dollars worth of drugs every month, all to get high be more sexually promiscuous, all at taxpayer expense. We literally have men dying in the streets because we spent the entire healthcare budget on drugs and say spas for women.

Your hatred for women is very apparent here. I really think you should reevaluate your biases and ask yourself why you see women as some shallow conglomerate that's out to get men, when most are just plain normal people just trying to get by just like anybody else.
That aside let's jump into it.
Women consume approximately twice the health care services that men consume.
False. Google.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2965695/
"Health needs were substantially greater among older women compared with men, but women had fewer economic resource"
"Women were less likely to have hospital stays (adjusted odds ratio [OR] = 0.79) and had fewer physician visits (3.07 vs. 3.30 median visits within 2 years) than men with similar demographic and health profiles."
"Despite the fact that women contact the healthcare system at a similar frequency to men, initial disparities in the use of physician services"
"Men are more likely to describe themselves as risk takers than women, giving them a greater affinity toward invasive medical procedures.34,36 Men appear to be more likely than women to inaccurately report hospitalization.13 Women tend to have more caregiving responsibilities than men7 and may choose to forgo hospitalization rather than transfer responsibilities."
but women don't have to pay for insurance, because they don't work.
False. Women pay for insurance and women work. Look around you. Google if you genuinely can't bring yourself to believe that women have jobs.
Some women work less than half as much as men, it's rigged in such a way that men pay and women consume
Women work less on average because they are expected to take on more family and household duties. Unless the woman who is working less is using your insurance specifically, nobody is consuming your money/ resources. And if it is someone in your household "consuming", chances are you share finances. And if you have a stay at home spouse, so they aren't contributing to the finances, what did you expect? Why would you be mad that they're on your insurance if you two chose that arrangement?
Sure, I could have gone to the hospital, if I wanted them to take all my savings and report me to DMV and take away my license, so I couldn't work for a year. That would make my dependents destitute and jeopardize their education and life plans.
It sounds like you aren't happy with your specific insurance plan. Let's say you're married, in this situation, wouldn't your spouse also be in the same financial/ healthcare situation? Because it's based on your income/ healthcare plan, not your gender. Because your wife wouldn't magically be able to afford more just because she's a woman. If that's the insurance plan you have, then she would face the same access issues.
I literally know a dozen women to meet with physicians every month. It's just like going to be mall going out to brunch. It's a form of entertainment women enjoy together
You do realize some people have to have regular doctor's visits for health conditions, issues, and medications right? Certain medications require a monthly visit or multiple visits to get things figured out. I was on a birth control that required me to go to the doctor regularly to have it injected. I have to have regular visits for ADHD medication that I'm on. Every single one of those visits requires a copay and other payments. My insurance doesn't completely cover my current prescription and the price has gone up, that's all out of pocket money. My insurance won't provide my birth control at my pharmacy anymore because my insurance sucks, so I had to stop taking it. I lost access to my prescription.
Also you're not considering that everyone's insurance plans are different, with very different copays, prices, benefits, etc. Many people do insurance through their job. My mom pays the insurance for our family because it's through her job. My dad had the better insurance for the longest time, but after he changed jobs we had to switch to my mom's, which is considerably worse.
Women do not pay taxes in the United States
You are completely disillusioned. I work and pay taxes. My mom works and pays taxes and pays for insurance. Every woman I have ever encountered in my family and in my personal life works and pays taxes since they were old enough to get a job.
Women are literally popping thousands of dollars worth of drugs every month, all to get high be more sexually promiscuous, all at taxpayer expense
No. This is just insane if you actually believe this and I'm not sure what drove you to think so little of women, but man I hope you get the help you need to get past that. People take medication that they need for their health!!!!!! I honestly don't even have it in me to try to explain that to you. You should be able to piece together why people need prescription medication. I pay for my medication that I buy with my money that I made from my job that I also get taxed on.
I can't even address every point that's wrong with what you've said because it's just such a large volume of sexist ramblings with no factual basis.
You're issues should lie with the insurance companies and the corrupt US healthcare system. Not in anger towards women for doing nothing other than seeking medical care. That is a crazy reason to be mad at women I hope you know that.
Please take some time to not only educate yourself but to also grow some empathy.

It's flattering that you took so much time to hand pick a study that might appear to support your claim. Here's the first result that google found, clearly supporting what I said. Women consume double the health care services that men consume, mostly for recreation and socializing, without any medical purpose:
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/10718692/
But that does change, close to the end of life, right at the end, as men gasp their last breaths on earth, they do actually catch up with women, in terms of medical services consumed. Several years younger than women, of course, because of the years of labor they put in. That's why you handpicked a link to a study only considering senior citizens in the last years of life
You go on to highlight the exact misconceptions I'm talking about. You believe that you are hard working and that you support others by paying taxes. But data shows thanks not true, for most women in your situation. It is true that payroll taxes come out of your pay. But you do not realize that for every hour you work, men are working three hours. And so when you collect these taxes, you are not collecting your own taxes, but the taxes men paid into the system, for example, if you don't work a single hour your entire life, but you demand a divorce, in the United States, you still get to collect your husband's social security. Millions of women are today collecting millions of dollars of wages men earned, using exactly this tactic. Slavery, in other words. It's the primary reason social security is always out of money for retirees.
There are too many examples of this to list just for one person on the internet. The sex disparities are enormous. Men pay and women collect. But you can easily research them yourself. Women are financially cared for completely by men in the United States, from cradle to grave. They work on average only a little more than ten man years of their lives, and even at that, they spend their earnings on entertainment, not supporting anyone else, as men do.
You go on to cite more perfect examples of legal drug use among women, sex hormones and Ritalin / amphetamines. Extremely common. It's just like if men were partying with ecstacy and taking anabolic steroids to have a good time, except it's the majority of women actually doing it, and it's legal, and men have to pay for it. It causes insane side effects, and as life goes on, men will have to pay for more and more medical interventions to maintain this lifestyle. Our women are pumping themselves so full of drugs that they can't even imagine living without drugs.

My link was the first source that popped up on Google. My source was not a study only looking at the end of life. If you actually read the source, the entire point of the study was looking at multiple different age groups and economic statuses. The point of the study was quite literally to look at other groups besides elderly people. Your source is older, meaning possibly outdated. Lots of research has happened since 2000.
Also from your own article:
"Mean charges for primary care, specialty care, emergency treatment, diagnostic services, and annual total charges were all significantly higher for women than men; however, there were no differences for mean hospitalizations or hospital charges"
mostly for recreation and socializing, without any medical purpose:
There was absolutely zero information in the source you provided supporting this statement. This was stated nowhere in that article. They actually specifically stated they used diagnostic services, primary care physicians, and hospital care, all of which are valid reasons to need medical care.
You believe that you are hard working and that you support others by paying taxes. But data shows thanks not true, for most women in your situation. It is true that payroll taxes come out of your pay. But you do not realize that for every hour you work, men are working three hours.
I'm finishing up my degree right now. Everyone works more hours than me because I'm a full time student on top of keeping a part time job to pay for my basic needs and living. That's not really an accurate comparison.
1) birth control isn't partying. It's often a responsible choice people make when they are not ready for a child, often a choice made with their exclusive partner. Like with me and my boyfriend, the only person I have ever been with, we are both students and aren't in a place in life to have a child, and that doesn't need to be justified to anyone. It's a matter between me and him. So many people don't even take birth control to prevent pregnancy, it's used as management for endometriosis, pcos, ovarian cyst, cancers, extreme acne. It's also sometimes required to be on in conjunction with other medications and surgeries.
2) Taxes do not pay for birth control
https://www.plannedparenthoodaction.org/issues/birth-control/taxpayers-do-not-pay-free-birth-control#:~:text=Taxpayers%20Do%20Not%20Pay%20for%20%22Free%22%20Birth%20Control
Unless someone on YOUR insurance has a prescription for birth control. You are not paying for anyone's birth control.
3) taking prescription medication for ADHD, anxiety, depression, whatever is not partying with ecstasy. These are gender neutral medications. Men have these conditions and need or take these medications. They ARE NOT easily obtained I am speaking from experience. They are not anywhere close to being "high" or partying. It's not just popping pills like candy. All it does is help my focus catch up to that of a person without ADHD. It compensates for the hormones my brain doesn't produce on its own. it was a long decision that took about 6 months of doctors visits and tests and decisions between me and my doctor. I take it as directed. It was a good choice for me, not everyone may agree with that but to be honest it's really none of their business, as it is between me, my doctor, my paycheck.

[–]d_nijmegen 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link
It's easy, if men set the standards then women wear make up to please men. Making men look at them favorably makes them feel good.
or.
If they wear makeup for themselves they actually set the standards and men are off the hook. It's female enforced to wear makeup in competition with each other.
so either women falsely claim they wear makeup for men or they falsely claim they wear make up for men, but it's actually true but lack the insight to see it,

Well I’m not caramelok, but I believe the same in this instance.
I’m a woman who cares very much about her look because of my autism. (It’s a special interest).
But I know why most women conform. It’s not to please men it’s to be accepted and have the perks that comes when you’re attractive, people are nicer to you and other things that belong under the halo effect.
Why are there perks when you’re an attractive person, because of some men who set the beauty and makes women feel like they need to conform because if not there worth less.
It’s partly patriarchy and partly capitalism that set the beauty standards.

people treat you better when you look nice.. you dont think men get treated better when they present themselves well.. please explain what does that have to do with a patriarchy?
because of some men who set the beauty and makes women feel like they need to conform because if not there worth less.
is that the truth or your perception?
it could easily be said that women do the same to men who don’t live up to a standard they “set”.
short men, lower income men, weak or even feminine men are clowned or made to feel less then all the time for not meeting womens standard. how many women would date a man whose not as physically strong as them? not many.
but that is just life, it has nothing to do with a patriarchy of strong men setting standards for everyone else lol. that is asinine.
id like for you to explain why or even HOW a beauty standard is being “set” by patriarchal men rather then the standard just being what men in general find attractive?
as of right now i just don’t see how you’ve demonstrated how a patriarchy has anything to do with this
[+]sas0002 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
Yes, but there’s a difference between looking presentable and spending hours getting ready because you feel the need to not because you want to.
From what I’ve seen all the major trendsetters before social media where cooperations owned by men ei magazines, Victoria’s Secret, pinup girls.
Yes, men are definitely also pressured to be physically attractive but the pressure is larger on women because some men view looks as the biggest attribute a woman can have.
Those men are also clowned on by men in my experience, on of my best friends was relationship with a mentally ill bi guy who cried a lot, she didn’t care about that but he started being possessive and even choked her (not in a sexual way).
There’s also a lot of feminine men who get with girls, just look at how many fans K-pop groups have, they’re no doubt very attractive but they usually present more feminine than most western celebs.
As I said, nowadays it’s harder to explain the source of trends, with all of the different aesthetics out there.
But in the past it was magazines (owned by men), Victoria’s Secret (owned by men, well a man an a woman then a man), pinups (the magazines were owned by men).
If it was “just” what men found attractive beauty standards would never change, it’s not like men change what they find attractive every decade or so.
[–]LondonLobby 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
ok you are basing the patriarchy off of a feeling?
yes, and models were based on what men generally find attractive. if anything models these days are controlled by women and the feminist agenda.
“Plus sized models”. “Trans models”
they even put Elon musk mom on a cover of some magazine..
you seriously think that is the result of a patriarchy? lol
yes, because men and women are different. 🤦🏼attraction isn’t symmetrical, that’s not the result of a patriarchy. that’s biology.
women typically don’t consider short guys for serious long term relationships, where as men typically don’t care of a womens height. men tend to care more for physical beauty in women.
it’s seems moreso that you have a problem with understanding the sexual dynamics between men and women and you’re attributing your misunderstanding to a “patriarchy”.
There’s also a lot of feminine men who get with girls
that’s like me saying since there are women who don’t wear makeup or take long to get ready and they do fine then that dismisses your entire point.. that’s what you’re doing right now
[+]sas0002 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
If a bunch of women feel pressured because of a few men, then yes it’s patriarchy.
Yes, today but now we have social media, video games, anime etc to set unrealistic expectations for men and women. No, the patriarchy is currently being dismantled in the western world, it still exists but it’s far better than what it has been.
Again explain the trends, I get it most men want a fit pretty woman just like most women want a fit handsome man. But how do you explain heroin chic, slim thick, small butts are out now it’s big butts.
Tall girls don’t have it easy, I have some tall friends and they have a hard time finding a guy who’s okay being shorter than them.

so just feeling any sort of pressure coming from the opposite gender is a patriarchy..
i mean respectfully that is just wrong. it doesn’t make any logical sense.
a patriarchy implies some sort of oppression, but you haven’t demonstrated any sort of oppression related to that not even once.
your whole argument sums up to people treat you nicer if you take the time to put yourself together.
but that literally goes for anyone, you just feel like there’s more pressure on women, but you could literally say there is more pressure on men in other areas that aren’t necessarily on women.
both genders exert pressure on each other to perform in different metrics..
i just don’t get why you’re reaching and trying to make it a patriarchal issue rather then just the general sexual dynamics between men and women that you happen to disagree with, or thinks needs to change.

Men are visually stimulated. No, your "amazing personality" isn't enough to get you by if your looks are lacking.
It's how men are built and no amount of social engineering can possibly change that.
Nobody's forcing you or any other woman to do anything.
