it was hard to read because even tho i accepted the cookies the cookies page wouldn't disappear (beats me).

from what i gather this is a great service for survivors of sexual violence. the organisation doesn't declare itself to be a men's rights campaign because it doesn't want to make this a gender issue, is that correct?

There is so much doublespeak throughout that drivel I damn near went cross-eyed.

The whole section trying to justify how men have structural power and women don't is pure feminist dogma. Propaganda.

I was going to reply pointing out every instance of sexist doctrine they're using to deny that women have any structural power over men (especially in sex abuse, IMO that's where they have some of the most structural power [in the West]) but I'd literally be replying to every other sentence on that page. Not gonna waste the time.

Fuck I need a drink after reading that. Or blood pressure meds. Lol.

I don't agree with anything written on that page. It's treating people differently based on their sex. I was just browsing through their website when I spotted this section under About Us. The section entitled "Why aren't we a ‘men’s rights’ campaign?" has been been sneaked in under this:

We provide a national online helpline, individual and group counselling for boys, men and non-binary people aged 13+ who have experienced sexual violence at any time in their lives. We also offer emotional support through the justice system, support for friends and families of survivors, and training for professionals and organisations. We are not a men's rights campaign.

This is an archive from the 5th Dec 2021:

We provide a national online helpline, individual and group counselling for boys, men and non-binary people aged 13+ who have experienced sexual violence at any time in their lives. We also offer emotional support through the justice system, support for friends and families of survivors, and training for professionals and organisations.

Going by the closest archives available, the change happened between the 5th Dec and the 22 Jan (archive for 22nd Jan: https://web.archive.org/web/20220122170612/https://www.survivorsuk.org/about-us/ )

Old version of their About Us: https://web.archive.org/web/20201029190839/https://www.survivorsuk.org/about-us/

SurvivorsUK was established as a service for male survivors, to cater for people not provided for by other services. We are an inclusive service and welcome anyone who identifies as male, trans, non-binary, has identified as male in the past, or anyone who feels that we are the right fit for them

Below that section there's another entitled Values. This is a bullet point off that

Challenges perceptions – those of survivors, those of the public and those of decision makers

Ironic given their change

Thanks for this rather thorough investigation and the detailed explaination 🙏
