19-year-old woman who punched an elderly man unconscious in the street, causing him to fall to the ground, hit his head and then die a week later, is cleared of causing his death. Instead, she was charged with "wounding" and given a six-month curfew

The article is almost painfully devoid of any sort of details or context for this.

This sounds like a big nothingburger that only even made news because in some way, someone could claim that females were not treated like princesses.

Claims made anonymously on social media, by a person who said they were a parent of one of the girls who attended the speech last week

It wasn't even a student who complained! Just a random internet person who claims to be a parent. Did nobody even try to verify their identity?!

This is the BBC, I expect better journalism than this...there is nothing on Eton's Twitter, Facebook, their news webpage, or their blog about an apology. It almost sounds like they just apologized to the BBC when they inquired. If readers have to ask themselves these questions, why bother even writing the article.

“The school told the BBC a number of its pupils had been "sanctioned" after an investigation following an incident during a speech by Nigel Farage. The former politician told the BBC the atmosphere was "riotous". The college said it had apologised "unreservedly" for the "totally unacceptable" behaviour. Claims made anonymously on social media, by a person who said they were a parent of one of the girls who attended the speech last week, said the students were also booed at the boys' public school near Windsor, Berkshire.”

None of the boys were sanctioned for the shouting it was all for trying to get into the hall via fire exits. No one was punished for the shouting.

This just sounds like a lot of nothing but BBC needed a story so they tried to make nothing something.

There was definitely some poor behaviour but no one was actually sanctioned for the shouting it was all for the people who tried to get into the hall via locked fire exits.
