Fertile women were particularly sexually attracted to arrogant, confrontational, unfaithful, muscular, tall, and physically attractive men. Female fertility did not influence the attraction to financial success, intelligence, and kindness.

Young women are less likely to intend to use a condom with a more facially attractive male partner, and over 50% of non-virgin women report having intentionally employed a tactic (excluding other preventative birth control methods) to prevent/inhibit effective condom usage

Women and their parents indicated that ambition and intelligence were more important than physical attractiveness for a long-term mate. However, both daughters (68.7%) and their parents (63.3%) chose the more attractive man as the best long-term partner for mating, regardless of his ascribed traits.

Women view taller men as more physically attractive, more masculine, and having a greater fighting ability. Higher shoulder-to-hip ratios were rated as more attractive in taller men but did not influence attractiveness ratings for shorter men.

As an eloquent short king I feel targeted, also ☕

There is a 0.3 positive correlation between height and IQ (within races, don't compare an englishman with a Ghanian for example). So the taller you are, the more likely it is that you are more intelligent.

Isn't it more likely that taller people come from better living standards-nutrition which means higher IQ

[–]Trepptopus 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Where's the fucking study? It's just the abstract, they make a claim and fail to show their fucking work. There's no proof, no substance just the allegation without anything backing it up. Where's the science?

Brain mass wasn't controlled for. Realistically, taller humans have larger brains, on average, which explains the higher intelligence scores.

Isn't it confirmed that brain size does not correlate with intelligence in humans

[–]login-_ 8 points9 points10 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Yes that’s correct lol. If that was the case Neanderthals would still be alive today since they have an average Cranial capacity of 1600 cm3 and humans being 1400. BUT. Cranial morphology does correlate with intelligence

[–]RSDevotion1[S] 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

The comparison cannot control for intricacies of the brains due to evolution.

A small, modern computer chip absolutely has more processing power than an old calculator that's twenty times its size. Does that mean that size doesn't matter for modern computer chips (controlling for density), in terms of processing power?

[–]login-_ 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Huh. I see where your going with this and I can bite. The reason I say my original comment is because Im literally studying this in school… and I’ve been told many times that cranial capacity specifically does not contribute to brain function.

[–]RSDevotion1[S] 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Is your school willing to tell you that males have larger and heavier brains than females and that research suggests males score higher on multiple intelligence tests than females? See my parent comment for more research.

[–]RSDevotion1[S] 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (37 children) | Copy Link

No.

[–]FibzUK 12 points13 points14 points 3 years ago* (36 children) | Copy Link

The literature states the correlation is weak at best , and tbh I don't think correlation here is causation, taller people tend to be more dominant, confident and outgoing due to generally being bigger and that affects interactions with your outside world and other humans, having an effect on brain development and intelligence more so than the actual size of the brain. I think if they did a study where they looked at brain size but then also eliminated the variable of total body size and height. I don't think there would be much of a correlation at all. So yes, I guess there is a small correlation between brain size and intelligence, but I don't think it is because of the size difference with the brains but the people. I could be wrong.

I Googled that and found this as the second link...

In two datasets we found positive and very robustly significant estimates of the within-family association between brain size and intelligence.

[–]FibzUK 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Like it is a known fact taller men earn more and have a higher IQ. I don't think this is because of their brain size

[–]FibzUK 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Does it account for sex and height?

[–]FibzUK 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Again, I'm not saying there wasn't a correlation between brain size and intelligence. I just don't think it's because of the brain size is because of the size of the person

[–]RSDevotion1[S] 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Well, you thought that:

Isn't it confirmed that brain size does not correlate with intelligence in humans

You ought to read the parent comment.

[–]FibzUK 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I was under the impression it had been debunked from information I heard a while ago but like I said , the correlation is weak and I still don't believe it is causation

[–]RSDevotion11 point 3 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

You have yet to link anything showing a weak correlation.

[–]FibzUK1 point 3 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Of you read my message you would see I tried but it was removed by the bot so I named the study

[–]RSDevotion11 point 3 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

That's because you posted a Google URL rather than a direct URL. I found it on your profile. It's a non-peer-reviewed article and is already problematic for making this claim:

As no difference exists in the average IQ between the two genders, why is there a difference in the basic number of switching elements?

[–]YooGeOh 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You are correct

[–]Pavi2 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (22 children) | Copy Link

This isn't actually true at all. Y'all people are Perceived as being all of the things you mentioned.

[–]FibzUK 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (21 children) | Copy Link

everything I said is true

[–]Pavi2 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (20 children) | Copy Link

No it's not lol. Taller people are not better at any of those things they're perceived as better at those things. Do you're due diligence.

[–]FibzUK 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (19 children) | Copy Link

You don't think everyone perceiving you as being more confident wouldn't eventually lead to you having more confidence? , taller people are more likely to be part of a management team, own a company, earn more the list goes on and on, bigger people are more dominant because they are perceived as more dominant sure but they are also more dominant, I would imagine if you Google height correlates with X personality/behaviour you would see I am correct in general

[–]Pavi2 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

No it doesn't lol. I'm one of those tall people and I know plenty of dudes with height with no confidence. It's a perception not a skillset. You are incorrect all the way around. My grandfather was like 6,1 and 250 plus. Dude had no dominant genes in his genetic code. 😂 It's a perception dude it has nothing to do with size at all.

[–]FibzUK 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Bruh you're so off point it's incredible, noone claiming there's a dominance gene I'm talking about generalisations around human behaviour based on size and height

[–]Pavi21 point 3 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Lol no your pointing out one example and taking it entirely out of context. I just started that that's not a correlating factor using an example. You're the one that said bigger and stronger equals more dominant.

[Height and intelligence](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Height_and_intelligence#:~:text=Across studies, the correlation coefficient, weak but still statistically significant)

The study of height and intelligence examines correlations between height and human intelligence. Some epidemiological research on the subject has shown that there is a small but statistically significant positive correlation between height and intelligence after controlling for socioeconomic class and parental education. The cited study, however, does not draw any conclusions about height and intelligence, but rather suggests "a continuing effect of post-natal growth on childhood cognition beyond the age of 9 years". This correlation arises in both the developed and developing world and persists across age groups.

I know these studies but I also know very recently in the last two years they have found that this is based on perception. It's no different with women. Women view beautiful women as more intimidating and also view them as leaders. It's perception my guy it has nothing to do with the actual height itself. The increase of income should be a dead give away on that one considering someone has to agree to pay you a wage.

[–]Pavi21 point 3 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

You very badly need to look into the phycology of perception.

[–]FibzUK2 points 3 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

DM you a few links backing up my argument

[–]Pavi21 point 3 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Yeah there trash just like the ones you posted. 😂

[–]FibzUK 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

So your subjective anecdotal opinion/experience is why I'm wrong

[–]Pavi21 point 3 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

No the study on perceptions is why you are wrong. Go look more into it.

Ok dude

I have yet to earn more because of my height I however have been passed up for short women who could not do they're jobs.

[–]FibzUK 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Again you incredibly miss understand

[–]Pavi21 point 3 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Lol no I understand entirely. You just don't understand that's a perception not a reality.

[–]FibzUK1 point 3 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

If you understood the point I was making you wouldn't have typed the words you typed

[–]Pavi21 point 3 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Lol no that's not true at all again I understand this is you're perception but it is not reality.

[–]FibzUK1 point 3 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Okay dude

One day, you tall guys will learn that your anecdotes don't trump statistics.

If you lost a boxing match despite having a reach advantage, does that mean longer reach isn't an advantage? Or do you just suck?

If you don't think a 6'0 man has an advantage in life over his 5'0 but otherwise identical brother, you are tripping.
