Background Summary: I recently transferred universities and moved to a co-ed floor. I consider myself a good looking guy, but I rarely catch on to girls flirting with me and have never dated anyone. This girl, we'll call Maria immediately struck me as flirtatious (something hard for me to detect). Maria was immediately friendly towards me in particular, more friendly than I would consider "reasonable".

I started talking to her and even my roommate agreed that she was overly friendly/flirty towards me in particular. She has given me positive signs such as inviting me to go out and drink/party, constant eye contact, saying we should go to church together, teach me Italian (language I need for core reqs), etc. We have gone to dinner together and she has expressed interest in hanging out this weekend. Whenever we see each other, we both can't help but smile and we now talk whenever we bump in too each other. I think we have great chemistry and would not even question her liking me, but she had mentioned that she visited her boyfriend who was nearby on vacation last weekend. She had mentioned that she won't visit him this weekend because it is too far (one hour).

She was born in Italy, so I don't know if her friendliness could be a cultural thing, but I have looked her bf up and we look similar (I'm likely her "type"). Does anyone have any idea what is going on? Is she interested in being friends? Could she be using me or is she considering calling it off with her now long distance bf of a few years? Is it impossible to know? I am definitely interested in more than that, but I want to avoid the friend zone or wasting my time.
