I have a (platonic) ladyfriend. Said ladyfriend is a great gal, we have several common hobbies and we make great partners in crime. However, she's also very conventionally attractive and has won several genetic lotteries - she's simultaneously leggy, slender and buxom (not to mention she's highly intelligent too).

As a result, she's become rather accustomed to being able to get away with certain transgressions which less genetically-lucky people get held accountable for. She's petite as well so she can play the "oh come on, I'm this tiny waif, what harm can I cause?!?" card quite convincingly.

Recently, her Pussy Pass got denied.

She was attending an Irish Pub. At said Pub, she told an innocent-bystander man (who didn't make any attempt to talk with her first) that his head looked like a scrotum. Just out of the blue basically said "hi, your head resembles a ballsack." She was also likely drunk at the time (she has her share of issues and she tends to self-medicate with wine).

She got kicked out of the pub.

Frankly, good. She shouldn't be going around saying quite insulting things right out of the blue to a complete stranger who was minding his own business. Even I know that's hideously rude and I'm a fucking 'sperg.

Again, I consider her a great friend of mine, but seeing how she gets away with so many things Just Because Pretty Girl is really educational about the extent to which our culture infantilizes women (and no, I'm not making excuses for her... infantilization can confer privilege). Stuff like this is precisely why subs like /r/PussyPass and /r/PussyPassDenied are necessary.

And just because she's a friend of mine doesn't mean I will be complicit in her infantilization. I treat her as an adult and expect her to act like one (because she is an adult). I always have and always will. Indeed she's openly told me she likes that I don't indulge in the Soft Bigotry of Low Expectations with her... I'm probably the only person who doesn't treat her as a tweenage wino.
