I condemn any and all ideologies and religions which oppress or abuse the women, men, and children involved in any way. I also condemn any and all ideologies which oppose education.

It's sad, and I hope the women in those countries continue to rise up and demand the equality they justly deserve.

Basically, a woman can get not only her husband but even his relatives arrested on her say so. It is used as a money extraction tactic in divorce negotiations.

The law was introduced in 1983 with the best of intentions. However, it was written by politicians trying to win the female vote and not lawyers who could ensure its adherence to Indian law.

The truth is to maintain good Islamic traditional order in Iran they must keep women in their place. Powerful women is weakness in a society and only allows for a vector of chaos and attack. Know what this tells me? Politicians care most about their own and little about the poor.
