So I've been separated for 5 years now. Covid, ex medically going to crap, and a bunch of other things caused it to not get settled.. along with her dragging it out and not agreeing to anything. My lawyer has gotten to the point of telling me it'd be cheaper to just wait it out, she'll die first. Every interaction with her is an argument why can't she move back, why doesn't she have the kids more (she has so many medical issues she cant reliably get them to school, and she has caused so much trauma only our youngest who wasnt fully aware wants to be around her). And that she loves me and wants to be back.. I tell her no, and walk away. I have a custody agreement, I have them most of the time. She can barely work ft.. she was living with her parents. They bought a place for her, so they wouldn't have to deal with her. They manage most if not all of her finances. I've sent them more then one proposal, 3 kids, I cover 100% of everything no child support.. I did pay 2 years of spousal support which was much higher then the calcs online along with 30k in debt., with the agreement she'd sign over the house.. then one night she showed up drunk informed me that I was a fool. She'd never sign it over, and thanks for paying off the debt as she's going to make sure none of it matters in the divorce.. and that she'll get every penny out of me... which I mean he'll every penny I have goes to the kids.. and yes the only time she's ever been honest is when she's drunk. I'm pissed at the whole system, and her fn me over. I've been trying to have a middle ground.. a compromise to the ownership of the house.. yesterday argued about all this stuff.. her only thing was ..she should move back. I'm like wtf.. what will you agree to.. she's like moving back in the house... the only place she should be... ugh... And yes when we split we had 25k of equity and 35k of debt... now it's like 100k of equity or more,..she wants it to drag out so she can get more but wants me to start paying her alimoney for more and longer then the calcs require .
