I’ve read /u/VasiliyZaitzev‘s corportate land guides. She’s a combination of a lazy ho and the one who can’t do her job.

I got promoted, I was given my own team, and she was put in that team. I tried to talk to my boss about this and he made it clear she’s not going in anywhere.

Here’s the peoblem: she’s not totally useless, but she needs constant support (we are software engineers, or at least I am). Lack of support means she blocks and starts making trouble. She grew on her career convinced that people should sit down and teach her, and refuses to change. Of course, she tells my superior she’s willing to learn, and then complaints and go the other way behind his back lol

She’s the kind of person who never, ever admitted she was wrong about something while it was obvious she was a crappy employee. She just self-created an idea of what the job should be in her eyes, and stick to it.

My superior/boss won’t listen to reason, and stuck her in my team. If I go to work tomorrow willing to support her, things will go smoothly. If I stop doing that and start demanding she puts in some effort (like the others), she’ll start being a bitch.

Being in my team, her failures can cause me problems. On the other hand, when I sit down and look at her actions, it becomes clear she’s the kind of person who always get what she wants by being a bitch: give it to her or she starts applying social pressure on you. Maybe she’ll pressure you, or start ignoring you, or start bothering others.

Give her the help and support she thinks she deserves, and she suddenly becomes the most wonderful human being ever.

So... given my superior allows her to be like this, should I just swallow my ego and let it go?
