This will be a discussion about societal pressures as a Man, young boy, and teenage boys.

This will be a very long thread of text, and on my behalf I apologize for making this so long.

Please do not expect perfect grammar, I just wish to speak on the behalf of what most men suffer through today.

Suicide rates during 2020 were drastic as we all know it.

13.48 per 100,000 individuals.

Highest rate being middle-aged white men in 2020, the suicide rate for men was 3.88 times larger than the rate of women.

White males have been accounted for 69.68% of suicide deaths in 2020, fire arms being the main cause of deaths.

93% of U.S citizens believe we can do something to drastically reduce suicide rates in the U.S.

The suicide rate for teenage boys and men is significantly higher than women rates.

This is most likely due to the societal pressures forced and implemented onto men. As a man, we are often told and forced to not open up, to not show emotion or cry or else we are deemed as useless and weak. There is no reasoning behind it besides the fact we are men, nothing else. Thus, it leads to the conclusion of suicide rates we have for men and young boys as a whole. Men are significantly higher to commit suicide than women. The school system, court system, and generally everything favors women than instead of using logic and reasoning to create solutions for these problems.

I am a teenage male in high school. who has been unfortunately a victim of this treatment. I am writing this to hopefully impact this issue as a whole, and bring a more sight of importance to this matter.

I am just a teenager trying to live a life that I can be proud of, however, our system is shifted in such a way where that is simply not possible.

Did you know most men do not receive flowers until their funeral?

Did you know that men have a higher rate of suicide than women?

All of these issues, yet, nobody seems to care or even seem to want to talk about this subject. They aren't stated as something important because of how society treats men and recognizes them. Men are slowly declining into feminine, weak and docile men who are praised upon people for being weak. This is stated because our system is structured and has been formed and mutated in a way where men such as myself do not matter. People tell men to kill themselves everyday, all because of the fact that they are men. We hear the phrase "Kill all men" quite frequently too, but nobody seems to care.

Media, news sources, articles, etc. paint men as bad people and monsters, generalizing that men are all bad. Do not get me wrong, I am not saying that bad men and bad women simply do not exist, for we see evil everywhere in both sides of the argument, I am simply just stated that we should not generalize it to a specific group and call it fair, instead maybe direct it to men and women who actually are evil and bad people instead of blindly pointing it towards a specific sex.

I, a teenager who lives in a society where I am bashed and harassed simply because of my sex, makes it hard for me to see hope anywhere in my future. I disagree with the thought of committing suicide, yet I often think of it as a last resort, to just escape from everything and finally be at peace, and to escape how I am treated simply for my sex.

I have done nothing besides existing, and I have faced, seen, and experienced more targeted cruelty from this world than anyone my age should have to put up with.

I have been bullied, assaulted, abused, and have attempted suicide a total of 6 times. Yet, nobody seems to care. If people tell us to not consume drugs, alcohol, and smoke cigarettes, what is the point of caring about ourselves if nobody even cares about us to begin with? I feel nothing but alone, scared, and lost. I have opened up to people before, yet everyone ignores me and uses it against me.

I have been told numerous times that I am a man, and that I am useless, and serve no purpose, that I am nothing besides a worthless human being, and I am tired of the endless criticism I have faced simply for being a man. I have experienced this criticism more from young girls/women than I have with young boys/men. I have grown up to not talk to people because of this issue I and many other young men and men such as myself have faced throughout our lives.

I am just a teenager living life, what did any young man or man do to deserve such harsh treatment from this world in general? Well, the reality of it, is that there is no actual reason for the blatant misandry and cruel treatment for men, and I hope that someday, that I will not be harassed simply because of my sex.

We must do something to advocate for the mental health decline and unfair treatment of young boys/men. The fact I even have to say this is sad in general, because this should not be an issue.
