Men make up more than 90% of workplace deaths. They are the vast majority of the homeless. They kill themselves more often than women. They are required to sign up for the selective service, while women are not. Men are by far the majority of those victimized by practically every form of violence (and they may even be raped more than women here in the US).

The National Organization of Women has actively fought against joint custody as the default in custody cases. Infant boys are subjected to pain so intense that they literally go into shock when they are circumcised (and 100 boys will die this year due to complications), yet only FGM is illegal. MGM is actually encouraged.

Men receive harsher sentences for imprisonment than women. Men are portrayed more harshly in crime reporting. Their mental illnesses often go unnoticed or untreated.

Men have three options if they don't want a kid: condoms, vasectomy, or abstinence. How many do women have? Hint: it's a lot more, contrary to what feminists say.

The list goes on and on and on...

Define, please, what constitutes as "The Patriarchy". Please back up your definition with several solid examples, and then explain to me why fighting this so-called "patriarchy" has to involve undermining the rights of men to be human beings.

Because that's what's happening here. You have just openly declared that you actively make a point not to support men's rights. You also declared, under the same argument, that you would support the equality of women. Please, tell me - tell all of us - how you think that stepping on the rights of others to advance the rights of some is in any way okay.

Now, why do I support men's rights? Because believe it or not, men are human beings. I am not caught up in this desperation to believe that men are somehow involved in this enormous "Patriarchy Conspiracy". I believe in the innocent. I believe that people can be inherently good.

But, you know, shoot me. I stand for men's rights because people like you don't, and sometimes, people like you actively step on men who have done nothing to you.

Oppression and patriarchy(although mostly absent) affects the average man in a negative way, and empowering women makes it even worse. Not to say we need or want patriarchy, but there's no political party that strives for a good alternative either and an individual can't do anything either, so if you had to choose between bad and worse.. What would you pick... And that's why we're here, to try and make things better for everyone.

As to define patriarchy, it says that the man in the family makes the rules. The last time this was the case was when women were legally bound to a man/family, couldn't provide for themselves or were persecuted for trying to get a job.

What we see in the Arabic world is a perfect example of this. Those women are not oppressed at all, they freely choose to stay at home and do not too much. The reason why men are first in everything there is because men have obligations and women do not. A man in a family is legally forced to take care of his wife and children, if he does not he's breaking the law and will go to jail for abuse (starvation, neglect). Yet if a woman works she has no restraints as to what to do with her money, she can spend it all on whatever she wants. But if a woman gets a jobs, the children need daycare and that has to be paid by a man which might cause him to take a 2nd or 3rd job. What does this look like from the outside. A working woman can essentially destroy 2 families; her own, because she's in no way obligated to take care of anyone and another family because her job could've gone to a man with a family. Now you might think, but she has to stay home and take care of the children if the man works. If only it was that simple, but she's not. Emotional health (as in loving your child and learning them something) of a child isn't something the law can demand of you. So if a woman wants to be away from home she can because she doesn't have to do anything, but a working man whose wife doesn't do anything for the family is still in the wrong because he has the means to make the lives of the children better.

We can see this in the western world as well, not to a point where a working woman potentially kills 2 families, but more in a sense that rights and privileges of men in the classical 'patriarchal' system are mere tools, tools to fulfill their obligations for being a man. Feminism however gave women a lot of rights, and that's good. Really it is, however they didn't give women obligations nor are they willing to remove men's obligations and this is my personal problem with feminism. And still is to this day that's the sad case by default for a man unless a woman is actually freely willing to provide for him simply because she doesn't have to.. Doing something for someone who is forced to do everything for you or goes to jail... you must be crazy to help right? I'm not saying every woman is like that but it happens and laws just need to change that either one or both have the legal obligations to take care of each other.

Essentially: She has the right to work and make money, and then selfishly spend it all on whatever she wants.

But.... Ask yourself, what about her husband who doesn't have the right to work for his own interest because he has to work for her and the children to stay out of jail? Is that fair, is that equality.. I don't think so. If you want women to be equal to men, give women some more obligations instead of meaningless rights. And I say meaningless because it's for selfish reasons. Still.. no, not all women are like that but why should all men be legally forced to provide while women can choose to provide or not depending on what she wants? If you simply put it like that, and this is how it plain and simply is... It looks more like male oppression wouldn't you say so? Almost every right a man has over a woman is a tool that comes with a legal obligation. Well then you might say, let's just remove patriarchy by giving women more rights, it simply doesn't work that way. You can create equality by giving men the same rights as women have now (fewer obligations) or give women some more obligations with their rights. If feminism would work on that then men's rights would cease to exist, alas they only look forward to advancing their own agendas and don't look at why people have and need certain rights rather than immediately blaming it on patriarchy or oppression.

Now about the media, which completely loose from social and cultural restrictions. It simply follows interest and the mass, and fact is.. Everyone looks at women, especially at hot women. So the media provides hot women for man and women to look at. So tell your female friends and have the feminists convince everyone that women looking at other women is wrong or something..The media will gladly adapt to that if it profits them. So it's a bit sad that you're complaining about how the media works, supply and demand that's all. It's ruled by men who want to make women feel bad for not being like models. In reality it's frowned upon for the average man to want a model-like woman as his partner. On a personal level, I find Anna Torv not so attractive, but she plays the very smart character Olivia Dunham in Fringe. Would you also consider ugly betty good enough as an example?
