Go check with local state law first, some require a license for carry and use. Also certain standards enforced wrt. spray type and such. See here as a start.

Anyway I've successfully used pepper spray to defuse situations like these. Be sure to get it all on tape too.

You don't have to stand there and take it. Walk away and if they follow to harrass and hit give them a spray in the face.
