Interesting, though it may have doubled simply because there are far more foreigners living in the UK now than before.

I wonder if they can still try and claim child support even when they've run off with the child.

Britain has seen extreme levels of immigration in the last few years - around half a million a year. It shouldn't really be a surprise that immigrant families which break up often see children taken out of the country.
