Steinem’s solidarity with women stops at the party line. In 1993, she flew to Texas to campaign against then-Senate candidate Kay Bailey Hutchison, a moderate pro-choice Republican, and slammed her as “a female impersonator.”

Am I the only one who is looking forward to the fall of feminism when these aging middle class white females finally die off ?

I think she absolutely nails it in the following quote:

"If the President wanted to honor the feminist movement, a far better choice would have been a posthumous award to 'Feminine Mystique' author Betty Friedan, who, whatever her flaws, rightly warned against embracing anti-male, anti-family ideologies that treat relations between the sexes as class warfare. Steinem is a class-warfare feminist."

In this, you see the real difference between the early, non-radical Second Wave of Friedan and the Radical Second Wave of Steinem and co. (and their Third Wave progeny) - the Radfems see gender issues through the methodologically collectivist lens of class struggle. Instead of people vs. gender stereotypes, its Teh Wimminz vs. Teh Menz.

I find "the worst of" to be superfluous. Given what modern feminism has actually done, Steinem represents the movement.

At least, that is, until that other, "nice" part which does nothing but post in men's rights forums about how "nice" feminism really is because fluffy-bunny-of-femitopia-feminism says so actually steps forward and starts dismantling the legal and social structure that mainstream, established feminism has built over the last several decades.
