How is this different from boxing or wrestling which little boys have done for years?

I really see nothing wrong with this. Hell, it's still probably safer than football.

Children don't hit very hard. Bicycles are more dangerous (rugby, hockey, horseriding, etc). I don't see any black eyes or bloody noses.

That amount of body building (as per the pictures), isn't advisable. There is a question about what sort of message they are getting.

That's rather dramatic. They're not slaves being thrown to the lions, they're children doing martial arts. Those photos could have been taken at lunchtime in an average schoolyard - even the most well brought up children sometimes get in to fights and end up bruised and crying. That "cage", with safety equipment, proper training for the fighters, and adult supervision, is a lot safer than the environment most kids do their fighting in.

Edit: some people who know the sport have looked closer at this case, and they say the children are being taught unsuitable techniques and not using the correct equipment. Point taken. So is the remedy to tweak the regulations, or is the sport completely unsuitable? Is this a special case of the eternal dilemma about child safety vs wrapping children in cotton wool, or is MMA just too monstrous to contemplate? And the case of children with elite talent is particularly difficult to judge - such children have always been put under enormous physical and mental stress, whether they're MMA fighters, ballet dancers, violinists, or spelling bee competitors. There's always a conversation to be had about that issue, but that conversation goes beyond cage fighting.

You see men are so caught up with what women want .. type A men.. and bred for it that we can't see the forest for the trees. We are a product of what women choose. Men are womens creation via natural selection. To say otherwise would mean that men are the choosers of whom women prefer to reproduce with.. a state of perpetual rape.. I simply don't believe that women have been subjugated to reproducing without consent for hundreds of thousands of years. Gynocentric species are female oriented. Women breed with their chosen partners, not always but for the most part they choose what male they want. So they choose the most physically formidable male they can find for protection as well as material gain. I am a geek that puts the idea that men are a product of womens choices. We are who we are because of their choosing .. If we are violent is because they have chosen these traits over hundreds of thousands of years. If men are gynocentric we are because women have chosen that ideal over hundreds of thousands of years. If men idolize women sexually is because women have chosen that over hundreds of thousands of years to the point that our brains actually develop differently, our bodies are what women chose.. on and on. IDK if there is any truth to this only that it makes sense logically. If so the patriarchy is matriarchy via natural selection and men are only a product of their choosing over time. A breed of social and economic slave meant to protect, provide and serve women. Women reproduce with the men of their choosing.. and thus the inheritors of that choice are genetic ones. Men are the product of women via natural selection. Women do not reproduce with other women.

In a way, this is the masculine equivalent of beauty contests for little girls. Kids are being put into their traditional gender roles at earlier and earlier ages.

I'm not a fan of kids' MMA, or any kids doing contact sports with a risk of brain damage, but I'm not sure I like this being framed as a gender rights issue. Girls do MMA as well, but with much lower frequency. Now feminists might argue that this is evidence of discrimination against girls in MMA, but it's really just that boys are more interested in it.

This is a children's rights/safety issue, it's better if we talk about it in that context.
