This is not currently law yet, it is merely a proposal being backed by several parties. However, it looks like it may become law.

The details are bit subtle, and its not as great as one would think, but it is definitely a step in the right direction, so here's to that!

It shows its provincialism. What he's talking about is community property, which has been the law in quite a number of US states for more than a hundred years. Glad to see his country finally catching up.

He sure is right about British marriage law though.
