We all know that 90 percent of the radical remarks made on the internet are by 14 year-olds. I hardly think "people who are mean on the internet" represents any meaningful demographic in terms of adults. Factor in that, at least here on r/mensrights, the most vitriolic comments are from FemiNazi sock puppets and the moderate ("now now, rapey eyes can cause emotional trauma") ones as well? The truth is not to be found on the internet so easily.

I do think the article sounds a bit, um, reactive. Maybe the author should have taken a walk or gone to the gym first to cool off. I still applaud their efforts on our behalf though.

They're being generous. They didn't even cite the numerous MR scholars writing long racist/sexist screeds on bathroom stalls. Because we all know those A) must be MRAs and B) must be representative of the movement.

And this is why I refuse to watch most MSM reporting on events. Instead of reporting the facts in an objective manner, they usually seem to start out with an agenda and a narrative that they want to sell the public and they massage the data to fit that narrative. Anything that does not fit their narrative is simply ignored or misrepresented.

Fortunately, we now have multiple sources of information and do not have to rely upon the MSM to spoon feed us their version of events.
