I would have hoped that this would have been a valuable learning experience but it seems like he didn't get the point of this at all.

Plaster her face all over the media. Put her in jail for ten years. Investigate the District Attorney, judge, and anyone else involved in letting a year and a half go by without checking/acknowledging these text messages. De-bar and fine these people (payable to the young man) if wrong-doing or incompetence is found.

At that point, you might have something that looks like justice.

Very misleading title. I know it's fun and all to hop on the lets hate this woman bandwagon, but I think a lot of people on reddit never actually read the full article before forming an opinion.

"Funt told the judge that the text messages would show that the woman lied about when she last had sex before the alleged rape and would expose that she was injured having sex with another man. In one, which Funt read in court, the woman texted a friend about another sexual encounter two weeks before the alleged rape, remarking on how well-endowed the man was"

I'm not saying any individual is guilty/innocent, etc - all that aside, it should be noted that based on this article the charges were dropped due to there being lack of evidence AND her lies/bragging about previous sexual encounters were taken into consideration. These text messages prove nothing about the alleged incident or her lying about the alleged rape...just that her character & previous lies make her story more questionable. Could she have made it all up? Sure. Could she still have been raped? Sure. Not enough evidence on either ends it seems. But the content put forth here does not point to her lying about the actual alleged incident - a woman can have previous sexual encounters, with other men, or with the same man, even lie about previous encounters, and still become a rape victim.
