People have far less disposable income today than they had in the 70s.

Testosterone levels affect how likely someone is to engage in thrill seeking or risky behaviour, and supposedly, testosterone levels in men have been on the decline for decades.

This only has any truth in it if you agree that thrill seeking is central to masculinity. If it is, then is it really a men's rights issue that more men die in the military or at work? Maybe men are becoming more emotionally secure and not having to prove themselves through self destructive behavior every five minutes. Maybe men are finding more ways to find joy or to fill the voids in there lives. On the other hand, maybe some of those once popular behaviors were done in an entirely different context than today, one that no longer exist. Plus, maybe people have more stress, less time and energy, and more practical concerns nowadays.
