<<SPOILER ALERT for those who haven't seen the movie/read the book!>>

I recently saw this movie. Never read the book though. But it hit me as a striking example of how a young boy can be sexually abused at an early age from a trusted female figure and how it can really devastate their lives.

After the pictures and posts of many people complaining about individuals not taking situations where the boy is a minor, being taken advantage of from an older woman... I think it's good to recognize an accurate depiction, one that shows how devastating it can be for a young boy and his social and mental behavior as he reaches adulthood if he's abused by an older woman -- and also a positive example to bring awareness to the issue.

Whenever I challenge cases where people say that a man taking advantage of a girl is worse than a woman taking advantage of a boy, I often use this movie, and what I've learned from the movie and what I've sought to learn after the movie to help me justify my case. Really, regardless of the genders involved, it is always really, really bad.
