Feminism or meth? They say crazy things, are angry all the time and their looks change drastically.

Yes, while you're happily cooking inside of your cottage, making bread from scratch (Gasp) your husband is out in the fields toiling and breaking his back. Horrific, right?

And why the fuck do they call it "uncompensated labor"?!

If she gets no compensation from it, how did she not starve by now? Is she sleeping in the street? Does she go around wearing rags because she can't afford cloths?

Oh, she's not? She has a house to live in, food, cloths, shoes, and many luxuries and a life style similar to her husband that is working and being compensated?

Weird.

It was exploitative and confining? And you know that because you have talked to all the women everywhere who lived for the past 3,000 years?

[–]Dembara 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

At times, she is correct. Sometimes, women were extremely confined and exploited (for example, foot binding in China, the less attractive women who were then unable to walk easily were made to sew for many hours on end). However, it is by no means a universal truth. Many time periods and areas, women were as free as men, and men as a whole I would argue were more exploited. Though it is not quantifiable, it was much more common for a man's life to be taken in its exploitation for the state's goals rather than a woman's. War is the prime example.

This is the right place, but not the right title. :)

The title of your post does not say anything about its subject. This forces people to click and read before they can decide whether they are interested.

If everyone did this, the subreddit would become unusable.

So please don't do it. Take the time to describe your link, and save the time of hundreds of other people.

In future, such posts may be removed.

Its definitely prolonged busy work, but if its so difficult to use premeasured tools to put in the right amount of ingredients, then I can see why mcdonalds might have a hard time hiring you.

When my spouse is employed, I do most of the domestic chores. When I am employed, my spouse does most of the domestic chores.

When we're both employed, they don't get done.

Given your username, I suspect when your spouse is employed the gardening would take much longer.

Hah! Upvoted for cleverness!

If she has time to thing such things, then obviously it isn´t such hard job

If that's how they feel, she can pay half the rent, half for groceries, half for everything. The fact that she doesn't is proof that it isn't "unpaid" labor.
