Jail term given to a woman who scalded and stabbed her partner was not unduly lenient, judges have ruled. That they even reviewed it can be seen as progress against judicial benevolant sexism.

Misandry is not benevolence.

The scariest thing here is what the DA said.

" The Solicitor General had argued there was "higher culpability" on her part because her partner, Alex Skeel, was vulnerable. "

We all know who will be considered vulnerable and who won't. We also now know that in the rare instance where a man would be found vulnerable, it wouldn't do him any good.

Two tier justice, one for women, one for men

Alex Skeel, 22, from Stewartby, Bedfordshire has urged other victims in abusive relationships to speak out.

Isn't this in the same country where they're removing prison sentences for women because they are perfect angels? I feel like speaking out in the UK would do absolutely nothing for the most part. 7 years for nearly killing a young man after 9 months of abuse.

And from BBC as well: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcthree/article/5d33c36d-cd41-4351-97ed-4516962d5c44 where they mention "In their lifetimes, one in four women will be affected by domestic abuse- but so will one in six men."

But in the original article that OP posted: "The prosecution is the UK's first conviction for coercive control involving a female offender, Bedfordshire Police said."

Why do I feel like this wouldn't be the first time a woman has done this to a man?

It's a fairly decent sentence, actually. Women have gotten 2 years suspended sentences for attempted murder before. 7 years in jail for sustained physical abuse but that wasn't fatal isn't too bad. I'd personally have thought more like 9-10 years was more appropriate, but otherwise reasonable.

I want death for them. Anything else is a disservice
