The guilty party is not the guilty party, it's the innocent people who chose to treat her as equal. Oh, ok.
Bringing their race and her guess at their socioeconomic status into the matter, is the height of bigotry. SHould they get a pass if they were black? Should they get a pass if they were wealthier or more poor? If so, why?

This is pretty shameful. People should help each other in general, but this in no way qualifies as a Good Samaritan situation. No one is obligated to put their personal safety on the line for someone else. These men did nothing to contribute to the situation and it’s gross to suggest they have any accountability for this. Given that the perpetrator was clearly unstable, getting involved would have likely heightened the danger for themselves and everyone in the vicinity. The minimum expectation would be to find help or assist after the fact. This would not be a story if women were the only bystanders.

There is a middle ground here. She's wrong that they should have gotten physically involved. She's right that they should have hit the emergency button when they got safely to the next car. It is worth noting that she was upset that they didn't do either of these two things, not that they didn't put themselves in danger.
