My favourite part was how they called milo alt right... I guess being Jewish, Gay and married to a black guy makes him a racist homophobe.

An article from Wired praising one of Reddit's so-called 'Powermods' (mods multiple subs for free and actually pays Reddit for the privilege [Premium Membership]) who runs to admins to request mod privileges over so-called hatesubs (according to AgainstHateSubreddits), then bans the members, thus saving the world from Wrongthink. Or something.

Little about this would suggest that these trolling techniques would ever be used for social justice on Reddit. They rely, in their original conception, on mockery and exclusion, not acceptance and bonhomie. As Phillips puts it: "Why would any progressive aspire to something so regressive? It very quickly becomes a conversation about whether the master's tools can ever be used to dismantle the master’s house."

Because the progressives, if they didn’t originate the tactics, made them central to how they operate, just like that hero of progressivism and social justice, Saul Alinsky, who wrote that magnum opus on how to IRL troll people, Rules for Radicals. Mockery is not progressive? See Alinsky’s rule number 5, Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. Exclusion is not progressive? See Alinsky’s rule number 13: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it. And trolling itself? See Alinsky’s rule number 6: A good tactic is one your people enjoy. So if you’re having fun at the expense of your opponent, who cares about their beliefs, their autonomy, or their dignity? Progressives only ‘accept’ you to the extent that you obey them without question.
