Not at all. I’m trying to figure out where the Pussy Pass Denial is. Hillary got more votes in a democratic election. Normally, that would mean she should win. We’re weird. We don’t actually have a democracy, even though we claim it is. Saying this is a denial of a pussypass because the girl says “it isn’t rigged” which is seems to be considering he got fewer votes, and “you’re just losing” which he was because was getting fewer votes doesn’t work. Him winning kind of proves the system is broken, if not flat out rigged. This doesn’t fit the theme of the sub. I get that there are a lot of conservatives and incels here, which is admittedly an easy Venn diagram to make, but we should at least be consistent.

Not exactly. A republic simply means that the state is owned by the people, not by the rulers or private ownership. Republics can also be autocratic or an oligarchy. We just connect democracy and republic because we’re a fusion of both concepts as it was originally intended. However, we’ve become more of democratic republic oligarchy over the last 40 years.
Fun fact: there were at least 7 million illegals who voted democrat. Subtract that number because their votes shouldn’t matter as they aren’t citizens and trump won

The electoral college is doing exactly what it was designed to do. The founding fathers all agreed that direct democracy is evil, and the electoral college was just one way of combating that. They knew that if it was just left up to popular vote, then the people corralled in the big cities (the majority) would be able to infringe on the rights of the more rural people (the minority). All thanks to this genius system, our incredibly diverse country isn’t controlled by just a few big cities. The electoral college is by no means outdated or malfunctioning, it’s working just as it was intended to

We also didn’t have a system for communicating with people thousands of miles away efficiently. It made sense for us to give a few people that knew what was going on the power to make these decisions for us. Now, we can research every detail and make our own educated decisions. The only people that could disagree are the handful that benefit from the current system, but they’re also the only ones that can change it.

The Electoral College was created to protect the people from a potential president who seemed good during campaigning but turned out to be bad just before the election in a short enough time frame that people outside of Capital Hill and the overall DC area wouldn’t hear about it until after they voted. This was a necessary system at the time of its creation because the speed of travel for information was limited to horse. It no longer serves that purpose with the speed of information being almost light speed and as such scandals are widely known nation-wide by the day after due to telephone and the internet.

For those that aren’t following, this post is perfectly relevant to the sub. Many of Hillary’s supporters (not all of them, but many) were very avid about her being the first female president, saying she deserves to be and it would make history. Though it wasn’t necessarily part of her platform or campaign, Hillary did gain a lot of support simply for being female.
